I don't think Microsoft will release a portable anytime this year, but even if it does, it won't be a success due to the lauch of the 3DS.

Not a good idea to release a new handheld after its competitors have already been out for years. They should wait to launch it until the next gen of handhelds is released if this thing is even REAL.
Windows Phone 7 comes out this winter, that will be their mobile gaming.
