If you ask any hardcore gamer what their opinion on the Halo franchise is, they’ll say:” Meh, it’s alright but nothing special and it’s overrated”. If you ask a casual gamer what their opinion on the Halo franchise is, they’ll say”OMG! Its the best game evar!!!” Halo is a bland and generic kiddy shooter, it appeals to the demographic of fratboys as well. It’s a game for consoletards, it’s easy and casual friendly for those who haven’t played a decent PC FPS before Halo. Hell, there were better console FPS before Halo, such as; GoldenEye, Turok 1 & 2, Perfect Dark, Red Faction, and TimeSplitters (A game most real gamers love).

It’s the main reason why the majority of hardcore gamers are not Halo fans, only casual gamers are. The “hardcore” gamers who are Halo fans are obviously blinded by the hype or just plain idiots. If you believe Halo is a great game or even a superb game, you’re a dumbass in denial.

You share my sentiment because you are a hardcore gamer like me, Halo is joke among hardcore gamers but the casual gamers love it.

I consider myself a hardcore gamer, and love fps second most (RTS for the win) and I think halo defines the kind of shooter i like, and nothing stands close to it. I have yet to find a run and gun shooter that is all balanced or flowing as all of the halo's are. but as with what you said, it is only an opinion and not fact. I have red faction, and did not care for it as much as halo, its like all the other shooters. Name some good run and gun shooters that can stand up to halo

As for Halo itself, it's a good series even though there are better FPS's out there. Although what I don't agree is with the Hardcore/Casual separation of gamers. I've been gaming since I was 3 and have played pretty much every kind of game out there.

A true "hardcore" gamer enjoys games for what they are and for the experience they give, not because of some shoddy thing like "omg this game is so hard, im so hardcore L33T".
