Pretty sure PD is on record as saying it will release this year, that's probably why retailers have set all these end of year pre-order dates. It is definitely coming soon, i'm sure it will have a big e3 showing from sony, i would say it will be there biggest game on show.
FYE told me last year ODST was coming out in July! Stores won't know untill the public announcement either.
