Forums - Gaming - NMH on HD consoles underperforms compared to the Wii version

Okay, so it's a port...

Saying that the game failed to out do the same game on another platform because it's a port insinuates that there is no difference between people who own the PS3/Xbox360 and people who own the Wii.

The game failed for the same reason Driver: Parallel Lines failed.

People who bought Wii's didn't buy it for Driver they bought it for what they bought it for.

The statement game X would of sold better on Console X than Y. Isn't backed up with any kind of fact only subjective conjectures. This goes for all those Wii complaints about Call of Duty games as well and anything else for that matter.

If CoD:WaW sold 1 million copies it means that people either bought or owned a Wii that saw value in CoD:WaW and not much more.

On the off chance that 24k people bought Wii's for no more heroes the game still underperformed to what?

=/ The only thing this shows is that a fun game is available to anyone with a console.

if you combine the ps3 and xbox numbers you got almost the same number the wii did in 2.5years and that just in about 3 weeks for a userbase that is combined 4 million less how is that not total fail for the wii for such an old game.

The current PS3+360 userbase is about 6.5m, while the Wii userbase 3 weeks after NMH released originally was just under 4m.  Come on people...

my point was wii sold in 2.5 years with a current userbase of over 10 milllion a little over 40k and hd consoles sell almost 40k in 3 weeks with a userbase of 6.5 million

NMH Wii was done after a month basically, you can't find new copies now most places.  2.5 years from now, Heroes Paradise numbers will be more or less the same as well, though PS3+360 probably won't have a larger installed base than Wii.

It's sales on PS3 are just as pathetic, if not more so, yes, than it was on the Wii. The userbase for the PS3 now is comparible to what it was on the Wii when NHM launched so it's a far comparison (without taking other factors into consideration).

However sales for NHM on 360 have very good considering the size of the userbase. Clearly, there's more of an appetite for this type of game on Xbox than Wii (in Japan).

Regardless, this arguement is FAIL on all levels because it's a niche, small developer game and the sales are just pathetic any way you slice it on any systems in Japan. Proves nothing at all except this game won't sell. End of story.

I don't see how two very late ports selling slightly below the original(with no advertising) is underperforming but spin it as you chose.

Exactly this.

Two very late ports of a game that was hardly advertised with the stigma of being from the Wii is going to not exaclty do wonders in the sales department. Fact it is only a few thousand off is pretty impressive.

And let's be blunt, when you've got Bayonetta etc, why would you dash out to buy No More Heroes...?

I doubt a 2 year port NMH bombing on HD consoles is going to effect future 3rd party support for the HD consoles

To be fair, the Wii original had even less promotion compared to Heroes' Paradise.  HP actually got collectible pre-order bonuses (exclusive to each version too, encouraging fans to buy both), extensive magazine advertising/coverage and even a self contained pamphlet stocked at retailers all about the game.  The Wii version didn't even get that, it was literally sent to die (likely because it changed publisher hands from Spike to Marvelous).

No, but I gather it's effects Marvelous' future PS3/360 support.  They clearly expected more, plus Red Seeds Profile also just tanked for them.

funny how when Wii owners use the same argument for old ports, everyone blames it on the Wii not the game.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmmm

*snaps fingers*

the sells of what ever game you are showing us numbers reflect nothing on or about a game that hasn't been released on HD platforms.

1st party vs 3rd party % statistics for 2008. RolStoppable! this is the best i could do. but it takes you to the thread.
