Forums - Nintendo - Wii controller batteries...

Got the Black Wii coming in the mail. What is best charging unit/battery combo to get? I'm surprised to see that Nintendo doesn't offer a Nintendo brand version. Also, is there a battery that comes in black, instead of all the white ones?

This is what you should do. Get the energizer rechargeables. Get double what you need and always keep a set of batteries charged. They last very long and when you already have replacements precharged, it makes your gaming experience much more fun.

I have been using the Nyko Charge Station (the dual battery charger) for a few years now and it has worked great and saved me money..............the battery packs also have grips on the back to help prevent slip. Gamestop usually sells these for around $30.

yeah i got the same thing and I like it alot...Gamestop and the Nyko website also sell black grips if you want to keep your new controller all black

You should congratulate me. I destroyed the vile red falcon and saved the universe. I consider myself a hero.

Also have the Nyko charger, had it for 2.5 years now, still works great.

im surprised ninteendo has not invented a wiimote with an internal re-charable battery yet (just like ps move will have).

I prefer removable batteries. That way, you can replace it when it dies out as all rechargables do have a limit on how many it can be charged.

Also, you can swap in fresh cells if they go dry at an important time.

It sucks to tell your guest that they can play that cool PS3 game if they really want to, they'll just have to sit on the floor because the USB cable won't reach the couch.
