Forums - Nintendo - Wii controller batteries...

Buy some Eneloops.
Many brands also reshell the eneloops with their labels and charge you twice the price.

Just have some spares and replace the batteries once the one you use runs out.
They are great at keeping charge so you actually can just leave the unused pieces in storage until you need them.

As for charge station where you constantly keep the active charge going, I think that will reduce the lifespan of your rechargeables.

I have been using the Nyko Charge Station (the dual battery charger) for a few years now and it has worked great and saved me money..............the battery packs also have grips on the back to help prevent slip. Gamestop usually sells these for around $30.

Same here.

May even get it cheaper on Amazon esp since they have that newer one that charges with the M+ plugged in and condom on to make it even easier.

Nyko is the only 3rd party stuff I trust on Wii,never had a problem.

This pic is the newest version. 30$ amazon

NO!

Don't use Nyko, they're terrible.  If your stuff work and you've had it more than a year then you're one of the lucky one because Nyko's products are just plain terrible.

DO NOT BUY A NYKO REMOTE CHARGER.

The Wii remote charger is known to be especially bad, don't get it.

I've had the Nyko one and it does in fact suck and will eventually just stop working.  Now that that's out of the way, I and several other people I know use this:

Just go to Amazon and search Wii Energizer charger.  They have no parts to get messed up and are great.  They even have fancy black ones.

AA Rechargeables are the way to go. Best if 2000mAH or higher.

Dont get Wii specific stuff, it will cost you much more.

Had my Nyko Charger for over 3 years. Still works awesome.
Only bought two batt packs they last quite some time.
My Nyko Wing I bought 2 years ago still works great.
I have heard nothing but mostly positive feed back on Wii nyko products.
On Amazon user reviews from well over 700 averages about 4/5 stars. Seems most people like it then.

im surprised ninteendo has not invented a wiimote with an internal re-charable battery yet (just like ps move will have).

So we can use user reviews when they're positive but they're obviously biased when they're negative?

That's great your charger is still working but Nyko really does make vastly inferior products.  They're more worried about just getting a product in your hands as quickly as possible and not at all about quality.

The main reason the Nyko chargers are garbage is because it uses contacts.  You can't have the condom on your remote and you can't have WM+ on your remote.  With the induction chargers you can have whatever jacket you want on your remote and it absolutely does not matter if you have the WM+ on your remote.  Furthermore, there are no contacts to get bent, the biggest problem, so you don't have to worry about that all.

I use Energizers NiMH rechargeable batteries. Picked it up with the charger for about $10 about 18 months ago. Fully charged its able to handle about 30 hours of gameplay.

I prefer removable batteries. That way, you can replace it when it dies out as all rechargables do have a limit on how many it can be charged.

I'll check all of these out. I still have a bunch of AA Batteries, that are collecting dust too.

The newest ones let you charge with the condom on and M+ plus.

Bought multiple products from nyko had them all for a year or longer all work fine. You are complaining of having one item break while most seems to be just fine. The minority had bad reviews. Simple really If more people like the product than people who dislike it by a wide margin then it's fine.

You got a lemon in the bunch and that can happen to any product from any brand of anything.
