IGN US Review...

Closing Comments
"It's not the revolutionary product some may have hoped for, but it's still great entertainment. Remedy has built a world that, despite being a fantastical realm of twisting shadows and realities, is solidly anchored in authenticity. Outstanding environmental design and some brilliant visuals and sound make Bright Falls and its mountainous surroundings look and feel alive. Though the camera can cause issues and the supernatural story isn't as interesting as some of the questions it raises, it's a tough game to put down once you've started. Remedy's done a great job of mixing elements of written work, television, and videogames to create an experience full of scares, laughs, and thrills that's just as fun to play as it is to watch."

I feel so bad for the developers, they openly expressed how they hope that Alan Wake would become a cross-media franchise to extend into movies, TV and whatnot. All that polish in vain, the game was basically finished for over a year and they just kept polishing to make it perfect.

Remedy must be so disappointed. Extremely disappointed.

I feel so bad for the Xbox and us Xbox fans. We could have gotten that super game and well needed weapon in the console war now that the X360 is struggling. And it's not even 90%. We barely have any use for non-AAA game in list wars.

But it's still a great game for me, I have it pre-ordered for day 1.

Xbox still has Crackdown series to hype about, that is one game I would not mind if it go multi-plat. Crackdown hyping begins now that Alan is a farce.

don't let someone else's opinion (reviewer)ruin your enjoyment of the game.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh here :S it's not a bad score so far and meta isn't the best measuring stick either for any game
