ign gave it a 9/10
Being in 3rd place never felt so good
Woah the people who said Alan Wake would be on 94 at Metacritic just saw their prediction go down the drain...
Let's all reflect on the brightside shall we?
First of all it's a 80+ Metacritic. It's a Great Game.
Second, review scores mean shit all when it comes to playing the games. Final Fantasy XIII is my 4th Favourite PS3 game and 2nd favourite FF game and it's on a 83.
People who were excited about this game and Survival Horror should just enjoy!

*Sorry Double Post! Something went wrong with my browser and posted my post twice*

The thing with the Eurogamer review that also bugs me is her opening rant about Alice. "she set's females back by 10 years because she is not very strong" is basically what she is saying.
Now the gripe i have with that is to me that sounds quite sexist. Not all girls have to be Lara Croft or some butch axe wielding nutter who will take 20 bad guys out at once. Maybe the character is supposed to be "girly". Just because the reviewer obviously doesn't like that type of female doesn't make the game bad. Personally i would find it strange seeing a guy who is the main character and being obviously a sensitive guy walking around with a butch type girl.
It is things like that which annoy me about the review as it doesn't seem well thought out. A lot of hating for no reason.
Like for example the rant about him wanting a break because of writers block. She say's "does he go to some sunny beach and chill with some drinks? No he goes to some mountain town with weird crazy characters" etc..
Now i used to do some writing. If your trying to take a break the last thing you want is a crowded beach full of rowdy people, that will iritate the hell out of you. She herself is stating a personal preference of lifestyle which has zero effect on the game. Has she even seen the shining before?!
All games like this have an erie setting, it is the damn point of it. The atmosphere would be ruined if it was at your local hight street or at a bed and breakfast just down the road. That is just stupid.
She goes on to say he is quite weedy and things like that. Er again hello this is supposed to be realistic, if you want mr strongman go play some super hero game.
So with that review i honestly think it is up there with the worst i have read. You can't say things you prefer to do yourself and judge something based on that. It is not how to review anything.

Hmm, I don't know about this. I love both of these games about equally but for very different reasons. There are many areas where GOW3 destroys ME2 and any other game for that matter. It is just that astounding. I guess if I had to give an edge it would be to ME2 but it is almost too close to call. |
I havent even played ME2 but I have a feeling it'll have a more chance of winning GOTY awards :>
Heres to GT5 and The Last Guardian saving us so we can have Sony Exclusives as GOTY again! xD
2009 = Uncharted 2 (You gotta be blind to not see it got the most awards lol)
2008 = LittleBigPlanet & MGS4 ..possibly Fallout 3 too (But a list that somebody made containing like shitloads of 2008 awards, LBP won)
Wasnt around during 07-06 but im guessing CoD 4?
Would be sweet if the majority of the GOTY awards went to GT5/Last Guardian/MODNATION RACERS [LOL]. Most likely a multiplat winner like Red Dead Redemption or a game like ME2 / Halo Reach :(.
Sony needs to release Killzone 3 xDD!

I will say I'm dissappointed with the Meta, but not that surprised, I thought it could go as low as 87, which it could still hit. What made me happy is: it's scary, takes 10-12 hours for a single playthrough, and there is some replayability. I love survival horror so that is enough for me to keep my pre-order. I've enjoyed a ton of low 80's (even some high 70's) games this gen, so I'm cool.
