Still at it I see.

ok listen, i have been trying to save people from having the same terrible experience we had with this game, is US$60 is an important investment, it is not fair that someone spends money on a gam thinking he/she will get a JRPG and then finding out it was never meant to be one, and you just bought a game that belongs to a undefined genre, more like a FPS, why i say that? i didnt come up it that it wasthis guys.

"Because players are presented with multiple different situations on the field, in a lot of senses FFXIII is more like an FPS than an RPG," says director Motomu Toriyama.

i agree with toriyama, and

"We didn't really intend to work within with the RPG template," kitase says. "We wanted to create a new game, even a new genre. The way we look at it, there's isn't a certain format that we have to keep to and build a game around. Rather, it goes the other way around. We create a game and, depending on what works or doesn't work within that game, it ends up reflecting different staple elements."

is a good thing that they know they made a mistake and next final fantasy will be an RPG... i hope.

“Personally, the Final Fantasy games that I have worked on have been very story-driven, so in terms of the development I wanted to, of course, use my personal strengths which where those.” "The next title that we will create will have those elements, and the improvements to those elements that you were mentioning(towns etc).”

so i think we, the victims have the right to warn people of this decieving  game.

No your just mindlessly trolling the game. You have been doing this for awhile now. I respect your opinion. But 90% of your posts don't need to include FF13 rants.

so funny, have you got to chapter 11 yet, because it opens up at grand pulse you know and you get to pick your team other than that, i love the battle system, and the graphics and that's where the game ends for me, the story was so average i even liked the WKC story more and that is saying something, have you tried WKC??

Did you read her entire post? She mentions that. Graphics doesn't mean anything. Games like Final Fantasy, Only story-telling and gameplay matters.

This post is one of my many reasons why i will probably never play a final fantasy game ever again.

Did you read FF_Fanatics whole post where he clearly stated "I love the battle system" which is a part of the gameplay not graphics einstein.

I have seen you stealthily negatising FFXIII without even playing it (not that you have a console to play it), you even went as far as to say "The PS3 version will never make it to 4 Million". Your last sentence is incredibly silly.

@OP

This game is one of the best games of all time.//Sorry it has the lowest metascore

The battle system & story being its greatest merit(a terrible truth? i miss my mom story is been reused in this FF). The linearity gave me the feeling ofbeing trapped that the characters feel, the fact that they need to run away(They are anime cliches). The story was extremely intricately crafted( ok falcies miss their momi so they will kill everyong so she comes back, very deep). Yes you can only control one character, yet that was the best part of the battle system(GTA best RPG ever then?), managing what the other team mates did & co-ordinating attacks, startegising, I loved it( you have 6 options, 6, i only used 3).

If you dislike auto battle, simply change it, there is an option to take off auto battle, use the option and stop complaining, if there wasn't na option you are at full liberty to complain.

The narrow linear path was very well done( i agree, very well narrow and linear), to me it didn't seem that narrow actually, in most levels it was pretty wide (apart from chapter 1, 10 and parts in others( out of 13)). The linearity helped me feel how trapped the characters must feel to be cursed and to flee, the story & character development during the linear levels is some of the best I have personally seen. The genius to couple Sazh & Vanille two different personalities & see their interactions & emotions(????) clashing was a treat.

If they have insulted the minds of gamers why is the game pretty difficult towards the end? Just because you control one character & have limited scope for micromanagement means they have insulted the minds of gamers? ridiculous ( they were right about you apparently).

Next your complaints about the story are downright silly. If you use sarcastic humor in that way any games story, even Planetscape Torment's (Peak of storytelling) story can be made to sound like a joke. And no Fang & Vanille are like sister's, again you lost a chink of your credibility with that childish paragraph.

You disliked the game, fine I can accept your opinion, but don't come in here saying the game is made for retards.

This is the first Final Fantasy I have played and it ranks among my best games of all time, thanks to this game the franchise has a new fan.

It seems Squenix was right about you.

OP: I agree with you wholeheartedly. What is happening now is simply the RPG and JRPG suffering the same fate as FPS, RTS, Sports games, Racers and most other genres have this generation; "casualization" as I call it. Games and genres that used to hold some depth and thought are being warped into unrecognizable lumps and mere shadows of their former selves.
I don't mind casual games, nor do I mind those that would wish to play them but I do mind seeing RPG's being torn apart and turned into action games or straight up shooters slowly but certainly.
The RPG was kinda my last bastion, the one genre I knew was going to keep me a gamer for many, many years to come but it just keeps getting dumber and dumber and everything is watered down into a soup entirely without calories and, thus, merit.
Unless FF Versus XIII surprises me a great deal or FFXIV turns out brilliant somehow (I hate MMO's) I really don't think I'll be buying any more FF games either.

Gotta agree with some of it.

Listen, the graphics are fantastic.
The world(s) itself is/are awesome to explore (once you get to Chapter 11, of course).
The story makes much more sense than previous FFs (especially considering the emotional responses of the characters involved, it makes the story a LOT more coherent and tangible)
Hell, I even like the fact that we have a strong female character as "the lead" as opposed to an effeminate, emo male. (See Terra and not Cloud, Squall, Tidus, etc)

Having said all that, the OP's rant about the battle system/control/summons is something I agree 100% with.

Limiting yourself to controlling just one person per battle is absolutely killing me. The mere concept that the other members of your party can be KOed and still recoop/battle on but if the leader is KOed, that's it, you're done, is a ridiculous notion.
Summons do remind me of Micheal Bay's Transformers, hence I hate them.
The feeling that you lost a lot of control is very disheartening in battle, and this is coming from someone who liked FFXII's system, I felt I still had control by being able to jump around at will.

i dont post about FF13 when the thread is not related to FF13. And look at what happen to the OP, there are lots of people out there in danger thinking they will get something like the final fantasy they used to love when they get this game, whe is not. Tell me, when you saw FF spirit within didnt you let people that did know anything about FF think that, that was what FF is all about? i didnt.

Iposted links and i have been reasonable. Now stop saying im trolling because i am stating facts about the game when the topic is related to FF13, so that people are not misleaded to believe FF13 is an RPG.

Hey Listen!

Final Fantasy XIII has become the 2nd game in the series that i have no urge to complete, loved 8, 9, 10, even 10-2 had its funny side and charm, but 12 i had no urge to finish and 13 is looking to be similar!

I mean the fact you can only control one character is the main thing killing the enjoyment of the game for me... i mean i can stand the lack of towns and also the lack of actual people to interact with in the game but don't limit my battle techniques!!

Here's hoping that Versus 13 will be more of an old school FF

Reading reviews and other paragraphs about the game I knew what to expect when buying it, it's definitely not the traditional final fantasy. I'm about 6 hours in and it's starting to pick up but it is no where near what I'd like from a final fantasy :(. I agree with the OP.

The game is decent, it's just not what I want from the game.

Starting to believe these Nier quotes :D
