Forums - Sony - Should I buy a PSP now or....

I think you should wait until after E3 to buy a PSP 3000 you never know if Sony might
announce a newer model or any bundles.

Even if they do announce a new psp, you'ill have to wait many months to get it and i'm pretty sure it's gonna be very expensive at first. I mean look at PSPGO. Not only was it a huge failure, but they still haven't dropped the price enough for anyone to cosider buying one over psp3000. I don't think it's worth the wait, since no one knows if a new psp is gonna be any better. Since 3000 is quite cheap and there are a lot of great games at low prices, i think you should you buy it now.

yea get a PSP, I recommend a GO if you want to be able to get most of the games, since you wont find all the games you may want on UMD.

Go also if you want more portable entertainment, bluetooth, pause game, 16gb, etc..

a 3000 if you just want to pay less, and want a bigger screen, 3000 is very good looking too, and I have it and recommend it as well

Yeah wait until E3. I would love to get a PSP-3000 but there's no way Sony isn't going to announce a PSP successor at E3. Sony isn't going to let 3DS steal their thunder. Right now, Nintendo has more 'casual' appeal and Sony has the horsepower and multimedia functionality. But once the 3DS hits, all the PSP will have is the multimedia functionality advantage. The horsepower advantage won't be there anymore. So a PSP successor has to happen soon.

Like everyone else is saying, wait until E3. There is a good chance they will announce new bundles or price drops or a new model. Then you can decide if you want to wait or not.

I would also recommend a PSP-3000 because you can still buy everything digitally like on a PSPGo, or on UMD. If you get a PSPGo, you would get a smaller, more portable system with built-in memory and the ability to pause your system (by sliding it closed), but you obviously lose the ability to use UMDs.

Go to a local BestBuy (or another retailer of your choice) and try out the display models to see which one you think is more comfortable in your hands.

wait until e3 i think sony will release psp2 very soon
but if you wanna buy a psp i recommond 3000 i have 3000 and it is really good device, 250 for psp GO doesn't make sense . it is nicer than 3000 so if you find it like 180 i say pspgo otherwise don't bother

I would wait a bit. If they do release a new one the old models might come down in price so you might even save some money if the new one isn't what you were looking for.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

You should wait until after e3 because Sony is probably going to give details about their next portable to compete with nintendo's recent 3ds announcement. Remember that the ds and psp released close together so that will probably be the case with the next iterations of the portables.

Also e3 is usually a place where price drops are announced so you should wait just to see sony is going to reduce the price first. I would recommend that you buy a psp 3000 or 2000 and pass on the psp go. You won't have a problem finding game umd's but a lot of games still haven't been released digitally yet. The psp 3000 or 2000 gives you the choice to get games either way.

Meanwhile with the psp go you are stuck with digital releases only.

I will wait till after E3 and see what is going to happens, if I am interested, I will get the new one, if not I may get the 150 pound PSP Go from Play.com :)

Thanks for the advice everyone :D

I play PC and PS3. The best of both worlds.
