I am going to get my parents a digital camera for their anniversary (which is close enought to Christmas to make this a gift for both) and don't know what to look for. My price range is around 300 USD. Thank you for the help.

Well, the Canon eos series are very good cameras, but maybe a bit of your budget on the higher model range.
I do think you'll get an eos 400D for you money, depending on where you live, and that's a fab camera! My girlfriend has one, and it's simply amazing!
