I don't know if this is much help but Resistance 1 + 2 are excellent Sci-Fi shooters, not as good as Halo. Maybe Resistance 3 will change that, it should be coming out this year.

Or you could stick around and wait for Bungie's new IP, lol it could take 2-3 years.

I'm Suprised I thought every halo hater would JUMP on this topic and tell me like 400 games better than halo ...

this is depressing .... Maybe i WILL have to wait for bungies new IP and/or resistance 3....

That is your best bet, there really isn't a game like Halo that is as good as it. Halo is the King of Sci-Fi Shooters. But do try out Resistance series, Its really fun, the First one is the Best IMO.

Dallinor is right, Unreal Tournament is a good suggestion, if you haven't played it yet, it has a quite similar concept o multiplayer, it is also better than Halo in my opinion (it must be played on PC), if you want a game with awesome graphics at any cost you should try UT3, if graphics doesn't matter that much for you I suggest the original 1999 version, it's the most "hardcore" one.

You could be experiencing that feeling I get when i don't have many games to play at the moment and I look back at old games (WoW, Halo 2 etc.) that gave me great entertainment and see them in a better light.

Then when I go back and play them I'm a little dissapointed.

It might be worth trying to play the game at a friends house or somewhere before you go down the route of splashing out on a new console for one game. I've payed mmo subs for a month only to go back and quit.

but its true... Resistance has a FANTASTIC single player but there multiplayer IS a bit wanting.... though the Co-op mode in resistance 2 Is GREAT

It is not a good choice, it is a great choice even if it might lack in some aspects compared to previous installments.
