Forums - Sony - What if Sony Signed an exclusivity with Activision for Bungie game?

Damn that microsoft and taking a huge chunk of Playstation exclusives.
Well that's business my friend. I could see it happening but not them making
a blockbuster and overhyped game along the line of Halo.

BTW, if it makes you feel better, Sales for Splinter Cell: Conviction didn't do as well as
GOWIII XD (Based on VGChartz info anyways)

Even funnier: Bungie develops a Wii exclusive game.

See? We can all be ludicrous!

it would be good for ps3 sales but activision are a big company wanting to get their product out to as many people as possible

no idea how to make this properly work

I agree with the snake

This.  I would call Heavy Rain a second party IP.  Would that be right?

Nah 2nd party don't do only one game.

they could become 2nd or 1st party but for now they are third party.

It gets even more confusing than that. Often you can get 3rd parties working on 1st party IP, or 1st parties helping on 3rd party games. Or any other combination

Spinter Cell Conviction sales are along the lines of the splinter cell series

yeah it is pretty confusing.

its like epic is a 3rd party but has an exclusivity contract.Mass effect too and they develop and manage their own studio

just an fyi...
bungie has full control over the IP and which platforms they develop for.
activision cant decide which platforms the game is for, or force bungie to make sequels, or have another company make spinoffs.
essentially their job is support (since bungie only has experience with a single system) and to market the game(s) that bungie makes.
