I wanted something that was like the Ipad...but WASNOT the damn Ipad.

This sucks, guess Ill be looking more at HPs offerings.

Interesting news on that front, too.

HP have kicked Win7 to the curb and it seems will either ship their slates with Android or their newly-acquired WebOS. It's kind of a kick to the nuts for Steve Ballmer who turned out at CES to champion Win7 on HP's tablet:

I knew there had to be another motive for HP buying Palm.  Well damn, so who is going to make the Win7 Tablet now?  Ill definitely have to keep looking into HPs offering. Thanks for the info.

I think just from a design point I'd buy this over the iPad anyday.

Probably for the best (from a financial perspective) - MS has a history of getting trounced by Apple in the handheld front, and launching after the Ipad has had time to build up steam would have ended badly for MS's bottom line.

Shame though, looks nice

It looked like a great product .. for certain profesionals that is. I guess they did a little market research and found out it wouldn't be profitable. The Ipad is great in its simplicity and can easily conquer a larger market, this couldn't be said about the Courier. Still it is a shame, the basic ideas of courier could still be a nice add-on to Windows 7 tablets that have to compete with the Ipad.

Things look grim for MS these days between that, Bungie loss and the bad 360 sales... I hope we'll hear better news from them at E3.
