Forums - Gaming - I got a MAC BOOK PRO! So Games suggestions (I have windows on it too)!

SO I made a thread around a month ago asking for Laptops advice cus I'm going to Uni in September (can't wait!!)....I got great answers & everyone REALLY helped!

Eventually I decided to buy a Mac Book Pro as loads of people I spoke too & PC World advisers said it would be ideal for my 5 year Medicine Course as its very reliable, whereas if I got other laptops I may have to change them in 3 years. SO this one will last me the whole way.

Not only that I always wanted to have the "MAC" experience and my best friend is a Mac Fanatic.

So what kind of games does MAC have? I'm not STUCK with just a MAC OSX cus the boot Camp program will let me install Windows XP or Windows 7 on it too.

Now the last game my computer ran "properly" was THe Movies (Lionhead Studios) -- a very underrated game btw.

So I have a backlog of 6 - 7 years.....so please reccommend MAC & PC Games!

I would have gone for a PC, they have more programs that are compatible with them & as a student it would be better for you. But as your course is long it may have been best to have a Mac. Try to get the Microsoft Office on Mac though.

Games I recommend:

- Planetscape Torment (first PC game I recommend to anyone)
- Mass Effect 1/2
- The Witcher
- Settlers V
- Civilizations IV
- Crysis (just for the spectacle)

That should last you for a while. You have a big backlog to cacth up on

I agree.  Also anything Sierra.

(Anything) Total War

My personal PC favorites are Homeworld 1/2/Expansion

Is Total War good for a Age of Empires Fanatic?

@The Xbox Man

I have Civiliazations IV already & love it. But I will reinstall it on my mac cus it keeps crashing on my 10 year olf SONY VAIO Desktop

definitely try Rome:Total War, possibly the best in the series and whats more £17 on amazon.co.uk for the MAC OS X edition which as just been released :D which is awesome cause now i can get it FINALLY! haha

Half-Life 2
Civ 4
Medieval: Total War, as well as it just expands on Rome but maybe too much, personal preference

not too sure about any others, not a massive PC gamer but KOTOR 1 is on PC which is a good Star Wars RPG and Starcraft if you dont mind wasting 100's of hours xD which on a med course probably isn't a good idea :P

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

@mitsuhide

you have a MAC too?

cool how is the system?

I'm not into FPS but I might try half life 2...many call it the "best game ever"

Older games should run fine but for newer games you might want to run them on lower settings/resolution.

Damn that must have cost a bomb!
I'd recommend rome total war, although its quite old now!
