Forums - Gaming - Firm: Sony Brand Less Valuable than Microsoft, Cigarettes, Beer, Toothpaste

A few years ago, I would have ranked Sony as one of the best TVs money could buy. Now, they are basically an overpriced competitor in a sea of excellent(and yes in many cases, superior) products.

To be fair, Sony has recently started dropping their prices on their over-priced TVs, but they'll never regain that top spot.

Sony itself, as a brand, used to have the best TVs, best sound systems, best portable music, and best videogame console on the market.. Now, their stuff all has stiff competition that has eaten up a ton of its market share in every area.

If Sony wasn't even at the top of this list in its heyday, where do you expect them to wind up now?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

poor sony ps3 only expected to earn 426 million the rest of its life. am i the only one who finds that figure to be a joke? ps3 is at or near the breakeven point on production cost so sony should be turning a profit every quarter on software for the remainder of its sale life
the 360 profits seem like a reasonable prediction
and i give up guessing what the wii will do. i thought it was on the way down last year but this year is proving me wrong as sales are still up

at least they don't think playstation 3 is doomed, only that it has a small future

which is equally just as retarded
