Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter Tri...tough love.

Well, this is my first time playing a Monster Hunter game.  I decided to pick it up and give it a try.  This game is definitly not for the impatient player.  There is, in my opinion, a lot to take when you get into it.  Plus, the manual is not a big help.  I read that you have got to give it time to grow on you, so I will keep on playing.  The graphics are great and the combats are fun, but the whole game doesn't feel...how can I put this...I don't know.  It sure is a discovery for me.  Everything seems new.  But, the funny thing is, I have played it every night for three nights in a row.  Not too long, but it grows on me.  I am starting to think of my weapon, and armor and how to get them better.  I cannot even begin to imagine beating the huge monster that is terrorising the peaceful village.  But at the same time, I cannot wait to bring him down. Weird...

I've found it fairly fast-paced, but then again i haven't really been stopping to do too many upgrades. That'll slow me down, especially since i'm going to have to take a good hard look at skill sets rather soon

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

MH series is closer to MMO style, but it has the benefit to NA and EU that it's free online. MMO are based around killing, resource gathering and improving you gear. It's a slow growth system and that's where it's strength comes it. Rather than some kind of massive money rewards(which can lead to abusive tricks) and buy all your gear. It get's you to consider your gear as important than just a few stats.

It's a fantastic game that is very immersive and can provide many hours of gameplay.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

This is my first Monster Hunter game too and I got into it as soon as I played it but that might be because I started with arena mode first with someone else. It's such an awesome game, the difficulty makes it even better. I've been playing online no stop over the weekend. =D

Cursed Mountain is also going to be a collectable Rol.

Yea, im def. getting MH3 tomorrow and im willing to give it time.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

now you know why i love hard games.
