I think I'm waiting for the black Wii.






The buy any DS and get a $30.00 giftcard deal they have at Wal~Mart right now looks pretty sweet. If I was to do that I think I would get a dsi xl. I tend to get the later released handhelds (my first Gameboy was the nes gba sp). :)

I doubt it. Last year they didn't need it and yet they did it so who knows.

I wouldn't bet on that.

DS -- maybe.

Wii -- Nintendo appears to be bringing colors to North America.

So even though Pacther says the PS3 plus Move is "everything the Wii HD should be" and predicts people "upgrading" (let's spend $400-$500 for a new system, plus money for new games to do what our existing system does), I don't see Nintendo dropping its Wii price before Spring 2012.

That's a good question since we didn't hear about profitability of diffrent SKUs for long time.

But even if it costed them few bucks they have tons of means of recovering those costs - Live, HDDs, wi-fi cards

if nintendo feel forced yeah , they did after ps3 slim managed to create some fire.

guys they did need a price cut, they had a yearly figure to meet, by march 31 2010 , don't know if they made but no way they would have made it without the price cut.

same goes sony and their slim, sony main deal they can do price more, but fast enough?

Personally, I think Nintendo will be tweeking the value of the Wii system from now until the end of the generation, but I don’t necessarily think that price will be a major part of this strategy. Hypothetically speaking, Nintendo could bundle the Wii with a game that has seen most of the sales it will see this generation (Mario Party 8) and/or an additional controller and the $200 price tag still looks entirely reasonable. As Nintendo moves to releasing their next system (potentially at $250 or $300) they can reduce the price of the Wii to $150; and then slowly reduce the price from there as their next generation system catches on.
