Seeing as the DS installed base is huge, it's not surprising at all. Wii software would also sell much better if the Wii wasn't supply constrained (it is at least in UK).

I do not enjoy these kind of games. But answer honestly: Who would you rather have around the gaming comunity, another Final Fantasy cosplayer or normal people?

Yeah, for every hot cosplayer there are 15 unattractive cosplayers and 2 guys who think it's funny to dress in a female cosplay outfit.
