I think the biggest thing out of all that is the "No price cut for another year" part. Not unexpected. Also, this means that this holiday season the rundown will likely be a Slim 360 Natal Bundle at $250-300 and a PS3 Slim Move Bundle at $350-400. Regardless though it looks like the PS3 is about to be considerably more expensive to purchase than the 360 once the new motion peripherals and the new 360 design + price cut is released.

Will it be another $200 (Slim Arcade + Natal)/$300 (Slim Elite + Natal) vs $400 (PS3 + Move) holiday? Seems like we are ever more likely to repeat the 2008 scenario now.

there will be a PS3 price cut of $50 to $250 and then the $100 price cut next year which will get the PS3 to the majical $149 mark which made the most sales last gen with PS2.

Oh so they are going to magically reduce costs by another $150 in just a year, huh?  Also, did you not see where they stated "No price cut for another year".  I guess I should have known better to trust someone working for Sony over a random forum poster.

you reall think with next gen arriving in 2012,they will still price the PS3 above $200.

Yes.  They have to if they don't want to take a loss on hardware.  The PS3 will be breaking even after this new 45nm releases and maybe make a minor profit of a couple dollars depending on the currency.  By 2012 the PS3 at it's cheapest standalone SKU will still be $200.

And 360 slim arcade + natal will cost $250 at max.not discussing elite

A 360 Slim Arcade + Natal would cost $200 at max.  Maybe even $149.

PS3 slim + Move with subcontroller and eye will cost $299 at max.

PS3 Slim + Move + nunchuck + eye + game will cost $400.

Sony won't be far behind this time cause they can't afford to lose the momnetum.I have explained to you before in another thread,PS3 slim with RSX 45nm already will readuce cost and with 32nm Cell being worked on and HW costs decreasing, eye cost barely $15,game will be first party so free,Move with subcontroller will cost $50 at max. They will msot likely price it at $299 with losing $30 at max and SW sales will cover that and Move bundle will only be some.Sony will make money on other bundles.

Move with subcontroller = $50?  Are you mad? A single move controller is likely to be $40 minimum with another $20 minimum for the nunchuck thing.  You also don't understand how much cost reduction is achieved via chip size reductions.  You are vastly overestimating I'm afraid.  From this point on, the PS3 will reduce in costs much much slower.  Last year was likely the last chance it had at a $100 cut.  After all, it's already had 3 $100 price drops.  Fall 2011, the PS3 will receive a $50 cut, and again in Fall 2012.  No price cut this year.

And we will for sure not see 2008 scenario,it will be a fight this time.Good for us VGC sales fanatics

Nah, it is actually very likely to be a 2008 scenario again.

please try to write ouside in a new box instead of overcrowding the former post.

Oh they stated "no price cut" and it will not happen, they said that last year.do you even follow gaming news,if you would you would not be saying that and you would be new in gaming community.Sony will lose sales if they say there will be a price cut cause people will wait for the price cut then, also it will alert their competitors.MS saying Halo reach will not have NATAL and you will belive that

"MAgically reduce $150",they are barely losing now,and new RSX coming they will be making profit atleast and more reductions(read wat i said before.you remember anything you read before and just start debating over the same thing. You think Sony will launch PS4 with $200 PS3.if you think this you are really new.

"Trust sony over random forum poste",then wat are you.we are all here to disscuss and forums are for that.and companies don't reveal their secrets,That no pice cut thing is just PR.

they will be making minor profit depending upon the currency, they are already making profit in Japan and Europe because of the currency. And "if they don't wanna make loss on HW",there is comething called business stategy.

Arcade 360 slim could be $149 but not with natal for sure,it will most probably be $199 or $249 at max.

there is no way PS3 Move, eye, navigation will be $400.$350 at max

Sony will sell Move at $40-50 standalone but there production cost will be around $30.Move is same as DS3,all its button command will be sent through bluetooth as they have said and with a glowing shpher which doesn't do anything, its mainly for detection.I am not basing the price cut only on reduction in chip size only,blue-ray sales are rising and its costs are decreasig fast and other HW too.I know reduction in prices becomes slow but with all cuts and possible 32nm Cell.

And even if it doesn't happen, you think Sony will cut only $50 in 2011 and 2012 which is ineffective, rather they would cut $100 in 2011.They would have atleast come down $100 by 2011.

anyways i know you are gonna read this and again start debating the same points as if you forgot what you debated before as you have been again and again.

and even if the price cut didn't happen and those things you mentioned happened,it will for sure not be the same like 2008.I can bet you on that.

Seiously?? Come on the Slim relese showed that peope was People were waiting for PS3 to be dropped to $299, so they could afford it, also don't forget we have lots of Games coming including the all important GT5, I think GT5 is going to play an important part in keeping ps3 sales high, if x360 outsells ps3 it will be by a smaller margin this time around.

Fixed! Anyway, the slim release showed that people were waiting for the Sony to release a slim. There were many PS3 "Phat" owners who purchase the slim because it was smaller and sexier. Also, GT5 is most likely going to be dwarfed by Reach.

are you here tyo correct english.

No GT5 will not be dwarfed by Reach,i can promise you it will sell more overtime.

Lol, you're funny!

You can promise those things??

"I promise you, my beloved... Gran Turismo will sell more even if I have to ride a horse with a really stupid hat!"

and how funny can you do?

be the funny man, trying to make everybody laugh and have no opinion in wats being debated and still try to make everything it funny

Why bother discussing things with you, since you clearly can predict the future! It's lost cause for me!

BTW, if you want my opinion on your posts, check Nightsurge's response to you above. I thank him for the time he spent on that.

oh so you need a protector now

I suggest you learn English and then come back.  I have no idea what you just tried to say there.

first i was not replying to you and just because you didn't understand it doesn't mean i need to learn english,it could even be a problem with you.

as you have not understood or remembered anything i said in my responses to you and start debating the same point again and again.

^ and that must lead to a 360 slim. Its so obvious.

Would you feel the same way if there was no Ps3 slim.

hehe.mostly it is because of the PS3 thing last year and the same thing happening this year with 360.

but most likely it will happen and these things have made us better at predicting

WTF? and 360 fanboys keeps moaning how MS forums are getting trolled now look @ them trolling in this thread, you guys are just as bad as the "fanboys" your crying about 24/7.

This thread has got nothing to do with Natal/move or price cuts....seems to me that just the mere possibility of another  ps3 price cut scares the shit out of certain ppl here that even small news that has got very little to no connection to another pricecut make him go....

Things are moving along though, and teh FUD is getting pushed further and further back.  Just today on the forums it was admitted and not contested by the 360 contingent that 1) Cell and RSX together are more powerful than Xenos and Xenon, and 2) 360 is no match for PS3 at the same price point.  I've been saying especially the latter for a long time, but the 360 camp didn't buy it when PS3 was 399 and 360 was 299.

And btw all, if the PS3 sku's stay at the same price but get bundled with Move, that still counts as "no price drop," and would be consistent with not having a price drop for a year.  I also think it would be manageable for Sony price-wise, though it may not be all that likely.

Anyway, good luck with the price predictions, all.

That sentence means nothing. Sony would not admit price drop until 1-2 weeks before price drop and neither would MS or Nintendo. If there is no plan to do price cut right now, they would say that there is no price cut this year. That still doesn't mean they couldn't decide to do price cut next week. Even longterm plans can be changed when ever they want. If MS drops the price significantly this year, then Sony might follow with price drop. Even if they say right now that they wouldn't do price cut this year.

exactly.they wouldn't want competitors alert or people stop buying and waiting for the pricecut

Slow your horses, no way in hell the PS3 will be $149 in 2011. Sony did a huge engineering job in crafting the Slim and that allowed them to cut the price by $100 (and still not turn a profit). The PS3 will not get a price cut this year, I think they'll do replace the 120GB with the 250GB and do some bundles with GT5 and Move, but no actual pricecut. $249 is for next year I think.

hmm... lottery numbers, please!

Especially when it's expressed in the FAQ that there'll be no price cuts!

wat?

and FAQ?

Sorry, not FAQ, but Q&A posted in this thread.

that still does not mean the price of the PS3 would not remain the same @$299.00, SCE could very well bundle in move with the system for free!, as to intice new system owner's.
