Forums - Gaming - The "I Hate Infinity Ward" Thread

Being a PC gamer I'm perplexed at how much damage Infinity Ward made with their last Call of Duty games. COD4 was average at best, but it was MW2 that "pissed me off"!

Robert Bowling, an avid Xbox360 gamer and developer was one of the biggest douches ever seen in videogaming. He was one of the people inside Infinity Ward that supported the removal of dedicated servers, and pushed IW.Net, which is an offspring of P2P and CRAP.

When Bowling announced there would be no dedicated servers, reasonable people would point and Bowling and say that they're removing it only so they could SELL crappy map packs that PC gamers have always gotten for free! Bowling denied it, but he's a LIAR!! The Stimulus Package is now selling on Steam, for the same price of Left 4 Dead 2!!!

Infinity Ward intentionally removed the dedicated servers just to sell map packs!! Those pricks!

Anway, a couple days ago Valve released FREE DLC "The Passing" for Left 4 Dead 2 (X360 owners have to pay 600 points). In contrast, IW released a crappy map pack for $15, which is almost the same price that L4D2 is on Steam right now!!

Let's compare L4D2 and MW2 for their price on Steam right now:

Left 4 Dead 2
Costs $20 (on sale)
DLC The Passing: FREE
Total - $20

Modern Warfare 2
Costs $60
DLC Stimulus Package: $14
Total - $74

I rest my case. Good thing Infinity Ward is dieing. 18 people have already IW recently, and more will leave.

I... don't get you. You hate Infinity Ward... yet you are cheering the people leaving... who were the head of Infinity Ward.

They are just going to be reborn at Re-spawn.  This doesn't change anything... in a lot of ways... it's worse.

he can hate both, activision and infinity ward. Makes sense to me.

but really, I guess, well I liked treyarchs call of dutys... So it gets activision not concentrating on IW?

or maybe he's wants infinity ward to die so he wants them to leave.

Because Respawn wont get the call of duty IP

all are good solutions. I dunno I can't read minds kids

i hate them for not giving the wii enought love.

he's complaining about dedicated servers more so I think, Which matters a lot. And thats Infinity ward, and possibly (activision).

and then adding gas to the fire no?

I don't hate IW, but I do hate Activision.

And according to Robert Bowling Activision decided on the $15 for the "stimulus package" not IW.

The only reason I sort of hate IW is they don't care about the community who supports them. By that I mean it takes them forever to patch glitches and stuff; and they never listen to what the community has to say. People have been begging since the game came out to have commando patched/taken out and there's a few other things like that but they never listen.

I agree, fuck infinity ward

Ask me about being an elitist jerk

Time for hype

Piracy and hacking is fully justified in MW2. In fact the more miserable the paying customers of Activision get, the better. So go and hack on the legal server guys!

Op fails. Its Activision you should hate. They get to decide the prices and whether to support dedicated servers or not.Infinity Ward ONLY developed the game and has nothing to do with everything ur whining about. And Robert Bowling is just a messenger. He even has less say than IW on the price of the map pack and dedicated servers. All of revenue from the map packs and the sold copies of MW2 go to Activision's wallet, not IW's.Now stop acting like a baby and get ur facts straight before u start complaining.

P.S. And I think Activision really doesn't give a damn as long as there are hundreds of millions of COD fans who will keep their wallet filled.

Not a big deal, nobody is forcing you to buy it. There's a million other great PC games worth playing, no need to spend money on something you don't like. If you bought MW2, you understood what you were getting. If people are willing to pay...well it's their money, good for them. I'll just stick to whatever else.
