Do the cliches ever end? Can we talk about Avatar without it being compared to Dances With Wolves, Pocahontas, or some other movies? People are broken records.

I feel the same way when people say Avatar is original and the acting was good enough for the movie to be nominated for Best Movie of the Year awards, much less win a Golden Globe for that category.

And bringing my post count into it was just unnecesary. Whilst you may not like the film (and on a certain level I agree with you), it simply isn't relevant to the thread.
Making things personal as soon as someone disagrees with you isn't the best policy when posting. All I wanted was for this discussion to remain on topic and not to devolve into a thread about quality.

I should take a chill pill? My comment on other posters doing the same actions as mine wasn't necessarily an attack on you. Was it directed at you? Yes, but the message was that it happens ALL OVER VGChartz. I basically went with the flow. I assumed, which now is probably wrong on my part, that with your post count, you have posted all over these forums and have at least once or twice encountered similar situations and have dealt it with it one way or another. As I've been reading the last year and a half on similar situations, the trend is to either discuss it, even if it is going off topic since the moderators here have let it gone by (as far as I've seen).

- Avatar actually only sold 3.2 million disks in its first day of release. As opposed to over 4 million that was initially reported.

- First 4 days of sales is 6.7 million in America alone (2.7 million were BRs).

- Avatar sold 557,000 in France in two days.

- Sold 450,000 in Germany on its first day of release.

- 3,409 were stolen at gun poin in Mexico...

- 143,000 copies are pre-ordered in Japan.

Overall WW sales so far (this is NA, France and Germany) are 7,707,000 however its released in more then just those three markets and still has many markets to go, these numbers are just the numbers I could see in the article.

So I guess the first week sales will be over 15 million. I don't know much about movie sales or the kind of legs they have, but I know Finding Nemo has sold more than 40 million copies. It seems possible for Avatar to beat that.
