I would definitely be in for this if it happened. Smart phones are coming on fast, if they can bring the PSP smart phone, i would be drooling at the thought.

I need a new phone and am now bored of my PSP. So yes.

I would buy one (only if they were not ATT only).

Not sure how this will work, Sony Ericcson phones are currently GSM (Which will not work on Verizon who uses CDMA or Sprint who uses T608 which I think Verizon can use as well).

For this to work they would need to broaden their field (bring in Sprint and Verizon in the US), but how likely would it be that they would create a handheld that is different from the exact same one, but running off a different carrier?

No... too expensive.. no parent would buy it as a christmas/birthday present for their kids... phones without a plan are freking expensive.. they can do it but then there should be a lower entry level model like iPhone & iPod Touch..

No I hate the fact people want this, if they do this then we will need to subscribe to plans then we wouldn't be able to use the PSN network without a plan, Let handhelds stay handheld and phones stay phone, focus handhelds on games and hardware not call services. But yeah the PSP2 does need 2 anolog sticks for sure, the one was just stupid!

didn't think about that. but what if you don't haft to pay for psn and your cellphone plan is cheep. like $29.99. i would say look at the positives but you don't see any.

Parents are already buying expensive phones for their children.

It's pretty obvious that the next PSP will compete with the iPhone/trying to copy it's success.

So yes, the next PSP will be a Smartphone.
