Forums - Gaming - Why Nintendo has ruined this gen for me

*Sigh*

Why do threads like these keep getting tons of attention? Don't like peanut butter? Don't eat the damn peanut butter. Simple as that. Nothing, I repeat with capital letters to appear professional, NOTHING to discuss about!

Err....did you even read the OP or just assume you knew what the topic was about?

As for the OP, I agree but I don't blame Nintendo.  I fault the HD consoles for pushing graphics over affordability, which has long been one of home console's strengths, compared to PCs.  But now PC prices have, for many years, been falling...so why raise console prices?

In the end, the difference in philosphy is what created the divide in the consoles.  It's certainly not Nintendo's fault.  They just didn't want to take the same route as the others.

What I meant was, I'm beginning to see threads like these more and more often and I don't really see the point of them.
(For example; ohshutyourmouth's "My take on Nintendo and why I sat this generation out" thread was posted just two days ago.)
I simply think these threads are pointless. Am I really the only one who thinks so?

Sony ruined this gen for me by releasing God of War III exclusively on the PS3. You know how awesome it would be to stab Zeus********* in the face with the wii-mote?

Nintendo may have introduced more people into gaming with the wii but they also seperated hardcore and casual gamers! :(

During the says of the ps2 I used to be able to play, socom, battlefrontII, timesplitters, crash nitro kart, wacky races and dbz boudaki all on the same system! It was great! However nowadays to play all of these types of games, I have to buy a minimum of two consoles! It's ridiculous :(

Also I think nintendo ruined this gen because just imagine how good super mario galaxy would look and play on the ps3! It'd be a  breathtaking experience. However due to the limitations of the wii we can only experience great games NOT excellent games from nintendo this gen...

BTW- I didn't label this thread as nintendo because I didn't wand hordes of nintendo fanboys running in, so please keep fanboyism to a minimum, thanks :)

So basically your mad that Nintendo hasn't died out, and gone third party. Well sorry for ya! Nintendo as a video game company is a lot smarter then Sony and Microsoft. THe only thing keeping them a float is the huge corporation they are  attached too.

If you want to play Nintendo games just buy a *_((#_ Wii.  All those games you mention you can still play only on your PS3. The only difference is most of those franchises have been canned. Nintendo didn't kill them! Your big business Sony did. Since most of those small developers can't afford to make those games on the PS3. With out mortgaging their companies. They could make those games on the Wii, but people like you and the media has convince the average no brain gamer. That a game that doesn't display in 720p doesn't count.

So sorry for ya! Grow up or move on. Either way the less people who think like you gaming. The better for the real old and new gamers. That's the term old and new not hardcore and casual.

Just because someone is saying something different. Doesn't mean their point of view is right!

@dahuman Wii has more variety??? I think the entire fighting genre would disagree with you. There lacking big time on that system and WRPGs for that matter but everything else is golden

@killeryoshi we are NOT at the beginning, the Wii has been out for several years and has only shown slight improvement. tilt tech????? are you joking???? the sixaxis already does that dumb crap, hell a couple of Gameboy games did that. DOnt get me started on Mario Kart Wii I hated the way they dumb that game down. Ill stick to Double Dash

I notice u keep saying IF, thats my point If, they have not gotten there yet, IMHO Ninty isnt really trying to do anymore with MC, they seem content with the way it is now. I know for a fact 3rd parties arent trying. Quite a few recent games that have just come out support standard controls, either jump headlong into MC or dont jump in at all, go hard or go home

this thread is the most stupid thread i have read and i'm more pro sony, you could not play on nintendo games on ps2 or ps1 either, so you argument makes no sense.
if you want to play on mario so bad buy a wii, I mean i own a wii as well so I can get the best of both worlds, problem solved.

it's the future of handheld

Actually...when you think about it...last generation was a bit unusual, the way 3rd party games were spread across all consoles. Before that (n64/ps1...SNES/Sega etc.) multiplatform titles were more rare.

Woo! I'm pretty sure this gives me 4 years to complete all my assignments that are due in late April 2010, cos from the sounds of things it's currently 2006.

@ OP - No-one cares about your hurt feelings, either deal with the current situation or ... Actually, that's pretty much your only choice

Btw, I was gonna buy a PS3 and GTA4 the other day, but i decided not too and bought 3 copies of Just dance instead.

Genres are being killed or warped into something unrecognizable for the sole purpose of catering to those who wouldn't normally like them. I'm still waiting for RPG's to be torn apart and become nothing but a shadow of its former self.

Ooh, Ooh, a diamond in the rough - sorry for the double post, but it's not as if I can be doing any harm to this wonderful thread :P

I actually think the twisting of RPGs has begun, and (I know a lot of people won't want to hear this) I think FFXIII is a culprit. I think the only properly controlling one and being able to give tasks to others is a step away from what I would consider to be the purest form of RPGing, and I think that it was in order to appeal to people who think RPGs are too slow and boring. Good news for those who think RPGs are slow and boring I suppose, but bad news for me
