I've said it last time and I'll say it here again, Master Chief is a super soldier one step short of the Hulk. He is capable of sniping target miles away without scope, has absolute situational awareness and can survive the G from a atmospheric re-entry. His bone density is so think that a man would literally not be able to snap his neck no matter how hard they try, weight lifting needs to be measure in tonnage and he can survive rockets to the chest a point blank range and keep fighting.
There is a reason the covenent calls him a demon man!
There isn't even contest. Master Chief will rip Hale's balls off and shove it down his throat. |
Which is why one rocket kills you in the Halo games. Look, I realize that the Halo books are canon, but there's a clear disconnect between the games and the books (yeah, yeah, it's for balancing). What if someone writes a Resistance book about how Hale survived Resistance 2, and now has the ability to instantly kill anyone with telepathic powers? And his Chimera body instantly regenerates any part of the body, including vital organs like the heart and brain?
Hell, Halo 1 and Halo 2 had fall damage, and I'm supposed to believe that he can survive re-entry? Yeah, yeah, armor lock and foam or something, but his body would still be experiencing a tremendous amount of force at impact, more than any fall in Halo 1 or Halo 2 that caused damage. He's supposed to be able to run super fast, but in the games he can barely move faster than a brisk walk.
But my point isn't to argue whether the claims are realistic (afterall, Resistance 2 features telekinetic/telepathic powers). I just think that we should limit the comparison to what the characters can do in the video games.
