A little article from Metro (UK free paper you can read on the way to work):
Viewers are promised a revolutionary experience as movie stars, aliens and even Wayne Rooney appear to jump out of the screen.
The Samsung UE40 C700 LED screen model, costing an eye-watering £1,800, comes with two pairs of 3D glasses which will transform the pictures into crisp 3D images. It will be available in certain branches of John Lewis from today.
But if you want extra glasses so friends and family can share the experience they will set you back a further £60 each.
Andy Griffiths from Samsung said: ‘Once you’ve seen a programme in 3D you will be hooked on the excitement and energy it brings into your home.’
Only a handful of movies are available on 3D such as Monsters Vs Aliens and some Premiership football games – so the new TVs will also be able to show normal 2D programmes.
Sean Hannam from trade magazine ERT said: ‘It will probably take off in the long term but barriers in the short term are the cost of the TVs, the cost of Blu-ray players and the cost of extra glasses for families.’

I'm now following all the 3D news as I want to get such a TV soon. PS3 has got the update for 3D games and soon we should see an update for 3D films.
Some info on Sony Bravia and free 3D games offered with purchase:

Maybe FIFA 2010 in South Africa will help to boost sales of 3D TVs? Who knows. Anyway PS3 and blu ray can only benefit from 3D now.
