HMM have delayed their usuall Friday release to today due to Black Friday. Should be available tonight.
The newest Nielsen ( last fridays) says that BD was 66%, and HD-DVD at 34%. Keep in mind that Nielsen is always 2 weeks old, but this is the newest figures available.
Thanks to kenobi after I got him to ban my old account (dallas) after someone hacked into it and being ok with me coming back under a slightly different username. I appreciate our communication in the PMs. Also I want to give a big thank you to vgchartz for being one of the cooler websites around.
Oh, and I'm still the next Michael Pachter

So even though Shrek 3 dominates sales for the two hd formats blu ray still won 66-34?

66-34 isn't nearly dominant enough to win a format war, especially at the miniscule numbers we're talking about. For a format to win, we need two things:
(1) full studio support for that format. Niether has this
(2) Significant sales -- right now, there are occationally high sales for blockbuster high def discs, but typically the sales are a tiny fraction of total video sales
Until then, one format selling twice as much as the other doesn't mean a hell of a lot. Especially since very few regular people are even aware that regular DVD isn't high definition.
more ps3 owners = more potential blu-ray customers. even if the person didnt buy it for that purpose, they may still purchase because they have the feature anyway.
DOATS1,
I completely agree with you but remember HD DVD (100-200$) player are cheaper than BR player (400$).
It may be (or not) an ultimate weapon on the HD DVD side
Time to Work !
Oh.
I used the word dominating because that article used it and I thought it was funny.
