Looks brilliant. Its a great pitty its on the PS3 tho. The PS3 has the worst pad for FPS. The left thumbstick is just in the wrong place :(

Altough why do people seem to get so excited about graphics. surely this type of graphics are expected on the PS3 anyway, arent they?

Wrong the ps2 had the worst FPS controls. Resistance fixed that. Ask anyone who played it, the controls are perfect.

I'm sorry to say it but yeah, i agree with leo-j. Of course the PS3 controls are nothing when compared to the Wii but it's far from bad. I really enjoyed Resistance and i really love CoD4. Now i need a fix cause i can't even play online most of the time

The guy complained about the left analog stick placement.

 *looks at Sixaxis controller*

Yep, the left analog is in the same place. I hate the PS1/2/3 controller for FPS games. The left analog doesn't lend itself well to that genre.

""It looks good...I'm just sick of the "pre-alpha" arguments. It's not going to magically look 10x better...it's just minor improvements from here."""

==> I agree BenKenobi88
I dont believe the gfx will be massively improved.

Time to Work !

Im more surprised that they havent done a controller redesign from the ground up since the ps1 days. Its a dated controller design now as controllers are getting more ergonomic or intuitive

The future of either console will not even be in Killzone 2 or metal gear solid 4. The best case scenerio that those games can bring is Halo 3 type results. The race in reality is in attracting the casuals and the mass market. Games like Banjo, Scene it, and other casual games are gonna do much more damage

I'm still a sceptic.

I remember when the net was going 'Look at lair, its good looking so it must be fun!'. Turned out the game was good looking but shit.
Now I'm skeptical about all games on all systems that have nothing other than looks to go for them in previews. Games like R&C you know will be good due to the previous games, games like KZ2 you just really don't know.

Agreed. The "Halo" segment of gaming has already been tapped extensively. The future lies in games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Wii Sports, Brain Age, etc.

Well, they tried a redesign and were laughed right off stage. I wish they would have tried to work with that design instead of reverting to the rapidly aging DualShock design.

I don't know. I think that teenage boys will always be significant and vocal segment of the gaming market which will mean that while Haloesque games may not become significantly more popular I don't see why they should become less.

Of course the gaming market will expand into casual territory which is why things like the Wii and the DS are becoming popular now.

There is every reason to be skeptic, especially considering the positive press that Lair got before launch, which Killzone 2 has also received. What you have got to remember is that Killzone did have some very good points, it just had some major flaws too. KZ Liberation was an excellent game, and showed what great work they are capable of. The cover system is a good idea, and lets just hope it can perform

People thought that Microsoft was crazy to get RARE studios but it may just be the studio that saves their ass by attracting not just the casuals but also "Nintendo" fans. Games like Banjo, Conker, Perfect Dark, and etc. still resonate with alot of Nintendo fans.
