Why should we trust loltaku on this?

? what do you mean?

This is not like a rumor, look at the pics, Hirokazu Hamamura is right there, even holding a MG PSP..

Also what wrong with Kotaku? It's a creditable site, like us it reports gaming news, can't really think of an article they posted that was wrong or brought to my attention that I should not read their news.

I think it's moreso that Kotaku has the audacity to say things like this, "Famitsu's handling of MGS: Peace Walker, however, has been blunt and brazen, and destroys any illusion of impartial reviews. Forever."

This is coming from one of the most biased blogs on the internet. Seriously. Read any article regarding the PSP or the Wii and they're terrible most of the time.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

My only complaint with Famitsu to this day stems from their 29/40 score for Demon's Souls.  One guy gave it a six because it was "too hard".  Dengeki scored it much higher, giving it 85/85/95/85.

And they also (surprisingly) overrate some western games.  Both Haze and Lair got mid-30s.  It's like they review them thinking, "well, this is what western gamers probably like."

Haze and Lair are for a Japanese based company, Sony.

Not saying anything against Sony, just seems odd that in recent months (years), during Japan's lag spell of software/hardware sales, that a Japanese review mag is reviewing Japanese games publishers high scores to boost sales.

But I don't know why we should not trust Kotaku over your complaints of Famitsu?

yeah, but nintendo is japanese company too so they'd equally raise reviews then too

you could say the same thing about GTAIV getting a 98 average. it's possible, but its possible its not possible

Yes NIN is a Japanese based company, look at the list of 40/40 scores.

GTA4 is a great game and deserved it's 98 average score, and MGS:PW might be the best PSP game ever made.. BUT..

We are talking about a Publisher of a Review Mag is pushing a Game to sell, with his influence, likeness, & publishing powers.

the real question is, that i keep asking myself all the time someone mentions reviews.

WHY THE HECK IS GTAIV GIVEN 10/10? , it doesn't deserve it at all! , oh wait is it because its a popular western game?

I disagree about GTA4, but thats not the point obv as you stated. But I mean every magazine gets hyped about games and gives games that shouldn't get perfect scores perfect scores. They also get more advertising from those games. Therefore maybe they'd be under pressure for the sake of future advertising in that magazine. Because it would make sense for publishers, to advertise more in the magazines that would likely give them higher scores.

but, if you think they took it to far with him holding mgs:peace walker, that's reasonable, but certainly other people see that too and can decide whether the review is credible or not

GTA deserves the 98 metascore? give me a break , its not even half as good as the other games in the series.

Chequebook journalism is rife within niche industry publications, NEWS AT 11.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Sorry.  Worded that wrong.  Not to say kotaku is making things up, as it is obvious Famitus has many tie-ins with Peace Walker, but why should we care about Kotaku's opinion on this?  They're a joke of a site that'll do anything for hits.
