Just for anyone who's interested, I recommend not taking the negative reviews the game is getting to seriously, it seem's like professional journalist are being lazy with the game and aernt giving it much of a chance.

If you want an indication of how the game play's and if it's good or not, your probably better off looking into more private reviews like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BeWNJRvL0I.

Neogaf are also loving it and the guy's over there are usually pretty harsh.

Nope. Never was interested in it since I've read about it from GI, and I'm still not.

Nier isn't half the game that FFXIII is.

My impressions:

I believe I am near the ending now (I am 35 Hours in). This game is strictly mediocre in just about every respect. The story held some substance and cool plot twists and the music is pretty well done. But the rest is decidedly mediocre to bad. The characters are drab, pretty dull except for the witty line in between, the gameplay has the illusion of being deep but ends up being pretty repetitive. However there are some cool "minigames" (now I know what critics meant by FF13  not having minigames) here and there.

THe graphics border from being very good to drab. Nier tries to be everything at once and like a reviewer said it just doesn't shine in any single way, what we get is like a chocolate bar with every type of falvour in it that ends up tasting odd and conflicting. I'll be returning it shortly

I am new to JRPG's...FF13 being my first one which I loved so I got Nier as its made by the same company and really I refuse the believe the same company made those two games, unless separate teams were making them.

The people in Gamefaqs are loving Nier as well. I am definitely getting this game eventually. I need to get a Wii (this has been long overdue), Resonance of Fate, Fragile, Monster Hunter Tri and Red Dead Redemption first though. Plus Arc Rise Fantasia is coming out next month. I don't know about you guys, but this has been a pretty amazing year for gaming so far IMO.

Not as good as XIII but still a damn good game, i'm enjoying it alot.

You don't understand the way Square Produce games clearly.

Just because its branded SQUARE-ENIX doesn't mean the same team produces each & every game. They have several different teams.

And try to see it as a game, games as good as FFXIII very rarely so don't use it as a benchmark to compare it to other Square-Enix or JRPG releases as that will only hamper your experience.

Anyway I have read more reviews & it seems it'll be a buy from me after my exams end in June.

It is worth it. I also now understand why the games are called replicant and gestalt. Very cool concept behind it.

and the game was made by Cavia, not SE. :P
