Nobody really knows, but on my view, the ps3 can cut the lead to less than 4 million before fall.

The 360 will maintain the 5 million cushion with the release of a cheaper 360 slim model later this year.

OP: Indeed. Should take no more than a couple of months at this rate, three at the most but the race onwards from there is a lot more exciting and a lot less assured. This fall and holiday season will show which of the two will emerge as runner up this generation.
Right now, its impossible for anyone to say, too many variables.
