Well I am not so sure whether the 360 can stay in front of the PS3 for the rest of the generation. Sales trends indicate PS3 is catching up very quickly and should be ahead of the 360 by mid 2011 if the current sales rate contnues.

Technically this generation ends when the first next gen consoles launches. Wii has this generation won easily. But a vert close fight between 360 and PS3 for second place. 360 apparently cheated PS3 because it launched early. But that was a strategic move that paid off for the 360 which needed a head start on it more established rival.

Can't say. However I doubt that anyone will think anything less of the Xbox 360 if its passed.

at this rate? no it cant but microsoft could make a few changes and give the 360 another boost but the way sony have been recently they will counter whatever microsoft try and do. sony have really stepped their game up and look how its paying off. my personal opinion is thatthe ps3 will eventually pass the 360 in sales, i havnt a clue when though. the ps3 will be too strong for 360 with its top games and brand recognition and popularity.

I don't think the 360 will stay ahead cause i think ps3 is more future proof with blu-ray and the cell processor, however only time will tell if the 360 can keep up or not

Even if it doesn't stay ahead, it's leaps and bounds ahead of what it probably envisioned it would do. So all in all, it's gotten a strong foothold to build on.

yes it will. Halo reach is the only thing it needs. If you don't think microsoft has any tricks up it's sleeve,then your sadly mistaken. Microsoft will stay in second place for the rest of this gen.

What I am saying is that the ps3 is more futureproof than the competition which makes the term "future-proof" viable in this debate, since the more future-proof something is the longer it can carry on selling for!!!
