And once again both camps are taking things way too seriously. Ebert's "too old", "out of touch", and "slipped out of relevancy" while gamers are "illiterate" and "stupid". Glad we've made it this far, can't wait to see where it takes us from here.

I expect this out of gaming journalism.

I do not so much expect it from a man who's been the premier cinema critic in this country for like three decades

Do u know off the top of your head which movies he likes?

No, but I do read his reviews from time to time.

My reaction (upon reading this):

I just googled Ebert, copied this EXACT picture, and was about to post it when I saw your post.

Anyhoo, this is what we're up against, people.  Just a dying old man who can't talk or eat solid food.  Ignore him.  If he were any other old man on the street who knew nothing about games, we'd pay him no attention.  And keep in mind, THIS IS A GOOD PICTURE.  He looks a lot worse.

Guys making fun of the man for having cancer is still pretty off-limits.

Now for months losers will be following Ebert everywhere he goes, telling him "But duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude have you played MGS4 yet man! IT'S THE GREATEST STORY OF ALL TIME!"

This has been happening since the first article

Christ

I take small comfort in the fact that if they told you what was the best story in a book they ever read, they would pick something equally terrible
