Well I voted for Mass Effect 2......but I haven't even beaten that game despite the fact that I own it. My guesses:

God of War 3: Very good reviews but it seems to be more of the same from the franchise. I haven't played it, though.

Bayonetta: Honestly, this may very well be the best game of this generation. It won't win, though. Not high profile enough.

Super Mario Galaxy 2: Not out yet. I don't expect to be blown away like I was with the original. Some of the "freshness" may not be there. I hope I'm wrong.

Metroid: Other M: The game I have the highest hopes for. We'll see........

Halo Reach: The "safe choice" for game of the year from most sites.

Final Fantasy 13: Very fun but very flawed.

Since Super Mario Galaxy is looking like it will be even better than the first I vote for it. Though, I also think Metroid other M might have a chance. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I would say GT5 even if it is not on the list.
It must come out this year and the game will be GOTY material for sure.

I dont think racing sims have a broad enough audience to earn general GOTY awards, though GT5 would for sure be racing GOTY.

Of the games, disregarding my perception of their actual quality / what their actual quality will be, I say the media picks SMG2.

personally i dont think any of those games other than a few sites for mass effect 2 will win GOTY. For one theres a zelda game coming out this year that we know nothing about, and then theres so many other games still to be decided on, red dead could be a sleeper. mass effect 2 is the best game ive played this year so i voted for that one.

Of those on the list, Mass Effect 2 is by far my favorite. Mass Effect 2 also has the highest metacritic atm. Mass Effect 2 was released pretty early in the year thou. Normally, awards go to games released late in the year.

GoW3 appears to be more of the same which never bodes well for GoTY awards. FF XIII has way too low of meta critic. Halo / SMG2 have pretty good odds because they are being released at the right time.
