Forums - Gaming - I have a question about FF XIII

The people of cocoon are at war with pulse, right? so cocoon has lots of military, air ships and all, special ops etc, poeple of cocoon hate people from pulse.

But i think i missed something, who lives at pulse? i whent down there and come up and i didnt see anyone , the planet have been deserted for centuries, im i right? do the poeple of cocoon have all that warfare for no real reason?

Again the question is, who are the poeple of cocoon fighting againts if pulse is empty and there is only wild life there?

I assure you, it'll all be explained in XIII-2.

Nah, haven't got that far into the game yet. Too busy collecting Incentive Chips and Credit Chips. Maybe the two girls we know are the last Pulse human survivors? I won't read the next comments here in order to find out myself. :P

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Do you remember that super existence that powers Cocoon? Grand Pulse has a shit ton of those that kills anything that gets close, so there is no war, there is only fear, and fear they should.

The last pulse invasion was hundreds of years ago. The Sanctum uses the thread of a Pulsian invasion to keep the populace in fear, and thus under control.

I'm right before the final boss in FF13 and I still have no idea what the hell is going on. The information during the load screens always give good information but I always think, "Damn, is that what that cutscene was supposed to convey?" If I'd just read the loading screen, I'd think it was the best story ever. Seeing it all play out is just confusing. Do like me. Enjoy the battle system and Vanille's hypnotic booty. Ignore the story.

so am right there is really no one at pulse, is all the sanctum making people think(for centuries) that there could be an invasion! so there is no democracy there because other wise people would want to now how there taxes are been spended.

@d21lewis
oh no i couldnt enjoy it, i already sold the game, is just that i have been trying to understand the story since some people say is the best ever and all, bu i think it stinks.

hell, I love the, game as in my sig. The story isn't close to being best ever whoever said that has quite peculiar tastes. It has lots of potential, it just doesn't execute basically, all the time.

And the story, makes as much sense as it does without having to read the datalogue. It's just you have to pay an extra amount of attention to everything and not miss one detail, or nothing makes sense. The datalogue, also, gives summary's explaining things that the characters don't know. Including why the world is a certain way, etc.

As I said, it doesn't execute very well. The ideas were there. IMO

You do know that the info on the loading screen comes stright from the datalog in the menu, right?

After Cocoon's outer shell broke in the war of transgretion (Fan'gs ragnarok form broke it as mentioned in the game), the shell actually fell on their village oerba.....thats why the village was lying in ruins. (remember the white snow crystal.....and if you look at cocoon some snowy crystal was pouring down....thats basically the remnants broken shell).

Then the Pulse Fal'Cie got crazy as Vanille & Fang failed so they turned people into l'cie left right & centre.....which is evident by the number of cie'th stone missions we saw....I mean if you read the descriptions one guy got turned into a l'cie to kill a wolf....how stupid.

Because of the fear of being turned into l'cie Pulse Civilization went into chaos & a civil war took place, and eventually they were finished. (This is clearly mentioned in of the analects in the datalog)

Another thing was that the sanctum stole supplies from pulse to help rebuild cocoons shell....so they starved many villages on pulse.

____

Most of that is in the datalog & some is minor speculation from ffxiii.net

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The cutscenes are terrible when its comes to conveying story info, the world s is actually one of the best in the series despite leaving some significant details quite vague. If you want to understand the world, go to the dataloge on the menu screen.
