Do you think GTA 5 will be announced at this years e3?

Yes 75 49.67%

No 34 22.52%

Maybe 26 17.22%

I have a boner! 16 10.60%

Total:151

Dahuuuuuudge - you win :P

jake the fake - By your logic

FFXIII on the 360 sold over a million (and is still selling)
Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System sold a mere 0.11 million on the PS2

Therefore the 360 is better at selling JRPGs than the PS2

I, unlike you, am aware that the type of gamer who likes 2d GTA based on it being fun is a rare commodity, while those who like those who like GTA3esque games because they are gritty, realistic and 'mature' are much more common. If it is legit to compare CTW with LCS or VCS, then why did the PSP version of CTW sell so badly?

Eh, you think a LATE DS port that Was not popular even on the DS should have Sold Great on the PSP?

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Ok, I don't seem to be making my point clearly, so lets get some simple dot points going

GTA:CtW is so different to LCS or VCS, so we cannot compare these games

This leaves us with only 1 possible comparison - GTA CTW on the DS to GTA CTW on the PSP

Now, this comparison seems a little bit unfair to the PSP, because it was indeed a late port

Checking out some other late ports, we see

Eternal Sonata - PS3 version sold 64% of what the 360 version did

Resident Evil sold more on the PS2 and Wii than on the GC, where it had timed exclusivity

CTW on the PSP sold 44% of what the DS version sold. This is a huge amount less, considering you are trying to argue that the PSP is better at selling this sort of game

Yeah I reckon they'll anounce something this E3.

My fave's vice city too.  I hope GTA 5 goes back in that  direction.  GTA IV was technicaly good, but it was just no fun.

The dude abides

probly xD

Dude, this has nothing todo with final Fantasy, we're only discussing the market for GTA games  and nothing more.

As far as your logic goes, it's just warped, did you honestly think that a DS port of a top-down almost 2D style GTA would sell well on PSP?

The GTA market clearly love the 3D rendered GTA's, which is why both the home console versions and the PSP versions sold so much, that my dear friend is where the market currently is, it's really as simple as that.

So..Since A Top View LATE port GTA that was not popular on DS Flopped On PSP Worse means there Is a huge Market For GTA5 On Wii?

the game was a flop on both DS and PSP. and ipodtouch now most likely, People Just did not want it i guess. Great game.

Oh yeah, obviously it will go to the PC as well as the three others I mentioned, thanks. Surely you have to agree, Attoyou, that the incredible success of CTW on the DS and its incredible flop on the PSP shows where the right market is for this sort of game?

oh Scottie how I love your ignorance, you fail to even mention how succesful the Previous GTA games on PSP have been.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories alone sold 6 million copies, and that's VG's numbers

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories sold 3.69 million copies.

while Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on DS only sold 1 million.

you really don't know where the GTA market is do you, otherwise you would not have siad what you said.

rand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Not sure about that, ipod sells it for 10 bucks, that's pretty cheap, I think it was on sale for 5 bucks not too long ago, I'm sure it sold tons. Also, just to play a little devil's advocate, look at the sales for Gran Turismo PSP, 1.2 million UMD copies sold as of last week right? Now look at the sales from PD site - which includes download and shipped - 1.8 million as of December 31st. We can safely assume about 300-400k are download, GTACW has been pretty neck and neck with it on the PSN sales charts every week. Lots of folks prefer download games on their PSP as 1) Ensures that it'll be BC with PSP2 and 2) Load times are greatly improved, you can probably find some videos on youtube comparign the 2 versions.

As far as the next GTA being on Wii, I doubt it but you never know, stranger things have happend.

As for the OP, my favorite GTA is SA, I think we might see the next GTA this october, hopefully. I also think we might see GTA3/VC/SA upport on 1 BD for PS3, 3 discs for 360 and possibly even Wii. The superb sales of GTA Collection ensures that we'll see more of that.
