Forums - Gaming - Which one is the console to buy this generation?

Not many exclusives? Just look at the PS3's top sellers and at least 10 are published by Sony.

Family gaming = Wii

Online Gaming = 360

Single player gaming = PS3

how is the 360 for online gaming and the ps3 isn't? just because their are more options in xbl doesn't mean that the psn isn't as good as it. when it comes to online gaming people only care about talking to your freinds easily, sending invites to games, and playing withought problems. both consoles match that. i mean who gets a console and plays online to socialize?

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Look at a list of the best-selling games this gen

Take out the Wii games. The DS games.

Biggest part of them are multiplat. Right?

Yeah I know what he meant but this part:

"The games are actually a secondary thought at best"

is nonsense.

I would assume the article means to say that since the two HD system share the most important games, then choosing between them isn't a question of games, so much.

the 360 is just superior in that particular option. That doesnt mean the ps3 is bad, it's just the 360 is better.

Yes, I know.

Well, 5. mass Effect is on the PC.

Still, given the sales numbers, the majority of gamers don't seem to be buying consols primarily for excluives - that is the argument that the OP makes, regardless of how forum-goers play up exclusives.

What the article is really doing is arguing that, since PS3 and 360 owners tend to buy the same games, their libraries have ended up being basically interchangeable to the average consumer. Not saying I agree! Jsut that that is what the article argues.

This is meant to be a joke, right?

What?

The article is saying that multiplats are the most important games this generation.

I always thought the most important games of a generation are the most sold ones.

if you only buy the games that sold most you miss out big time, sales doesnt indicate the quality.

this is like saying brain age is a better game than twilight princess.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Wait a minute... Was that poll only from VG Chartz? Why are you using that to try to prove a point?
