Exactly what I was thinking
Wii 550k
360 330k
PS3 100k
Every report I've seen from people scouting out the stores put Wii selling out, 360 strong sales, and PS3 not selling much.
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

I Just checked five areas at random for ps3 availibiliy on the 80 GB and 40 GB
80 GB
New York, New York. 12 of 20 stores sold out.
Tifton, Georgia. 13 of 20 stores sold out.
Cocoa, Florida. 8 of 12 stores sold out.
San diego, California 13 of 20 stores sold out.
Green Bay, Wisconsin 17 of 20 stores sold out.
40 GB
new york, new york 6 out of 20 sold out
tifton, ga 4 of 20 sold out
cocoa, florida 0 out of 12 sold out
san diego, california 5 of 20 sold out
Green Bay, Wisconsin 2 of 20 sold out.
Clearly this shows that the deal on the 80 GB at WM helped some. It also shows that predictions of 100,000 may be low. However, with wal-mart running that deal on Sat. sales at WM stores may be higher then everywhere else.
I'll get back when i have more info from other retailers
Just about every online retailer has the 40gb and 80gb in stock. 60gb seems to depleting, although still available from some places.

Xbox 360 is a mixed bag. Halo 3 edition seems to be plentiful.

PS3 Systems Are In Abundance Post Black Friday
Well Black Friday is passed and if tradition serves correctly, it’s the day that sets the trends for the holidays. How was the console war affected by Black Friday? Word on the streets is that Wii’s are still hard to find, Xbox Premium and Elite systems are nowhere to be found and PS3 systems are everywhere, yet still selling.
If you want to get an 80gb or 40gb PS3, they are in plentiful piles. You can pretty much go to any store and buy one. Even thought the price drop has caused a sales surge, the stock from the past few months is in abundance. If you want a PS3 for Xmas, you should have no problems finding one.
Xbox 360’s now come in 4 flavors: the Elite, the Premium, the Arcade and the Halo 3 box. Halo 3 boxes are easy to find. People just don’t seem to like that color so they aren’t jumping on it. Arcade systems are here and there. In my travels through many stores I was unable to find Premiums in abundance. Some stores had none at all while others had just a few. The Elite however, has disappeared off the planet. I did not see one Elite this weekend at all.
Wii stock is just like last year. It comes and it goes. It’s just as popular as it was last Christmas if not more. I really thought they would be easier to find this year but Nintendo is doing it’s best to keep demand up. Shit, all I want to play is Wii Sports! I may have to import or mail order a couple.
If this Black Friday forshadows the holidays ahead, you can be rest assured that it will be just like last year with Wii at 1st place, X360 at 2nd and PS3 at 3rd in sales. You heard it here first. Keep your eyes peeled.
==> so when the NA sales datas are supposed to come ?
Time to Work !
Sold out doesn't mean a whole lot anyways. It depends on retail stock as much as consumer demand. The DS seems to be plentiful and will probably beat all systems except maybe the Wii.
Wii - 325k
360 - 240k
PS3 - 160k
ioi, care to give some preliminary estimations?
Edit: I forgot the handhelds, DS 400k partly because of the new bundles and PSP 175k
The midwest appear to be huge ps3 fans.
80 GB ps3 at walmart
Columbus, Ohio 15 of 20 sold out
Minneapolis, Minnesota 15 of 20
Detroit, Michigan 19 of 20 sold out
chicago, Illinois 16 of 20
South Bend, Indiana 10 of 20
If about 70 percent of all walmarts are sold out of the 80 and supply was as high as everyone claims it is. Sony sold a lot of PS3 this past week
What should bother Sony is that 10 or fewer of those stores were out of the 40 GB.
