Forums - Nintendo - Where the Heck is the MH Tri hype?!!

hype doesn't equal sales.

You can see that by Killzone 2 and Wii Fit sales. One was hyped even in mars, and sold ok, the other was hated even before launch and look how it sells.

Some adhere to the adage, any press is good press.  It may have gotten hate from the "core", but it still had lots of hype, negativee or not.  It's like when the Vatican bans a book. Said book then proceeds to sell a billion copies haha.

When I say "feels like PSO" I mean the combat more than the grind, given that it's the same tank controls being used for melee combat and all that comes with that kind of set up. And yes all RPGs of that sort do have some kind of grind, which is why I tend to play more story oriented RPGs rather than the the ones like MHtri and Demon souls. I really love demon souls but I got about halfway through it before it just felt like a slog trying to collect the proper loot to upgrade my weapons. The idea of spending hours fighting the same boss five times hoping to get the right kind of scales, before going to mine for ores so that I can get the next sword upgrade just isn't my thing.

I'm not saying it's going to be a bad game, I think it will be of the utmost quality for what it is. But that kind of game has only a limited audience (unless blizzard is making it, then everyone will want that), which is why there will only be limited hype for it outside of Japan.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

oh dood, the combat is entirely different, it's a lot more complex than Demon's Souls or PSO once you get to know the game, the levels can't even be compared, imo anyways.

I'm trying to tell him that.....the combat doesn't play a thing like it. A good analogy is him trying to compare combat of say.....Gears of War to God of War....

They play nothing alike AT ALL....
