And, also a different Ratchet? As my Uncharted US demo adapted as well. @NJ5 yes I recommend the Lian Long single using step down converter up to 500watt, they're the best. Uncharted, Motorstorm, Oblivion game of the year edition, Ratchet & Clank, Folklore, Minna no Golf 5 I recommend. Although you'll get a different Ratchet. The shop I've recommended is very trustworthy, you just need to ask some questions beforehand. Have got my WII, PS3 and slim PSP from there plus soon also WII Fit. |
Lol i hadn't noticed but yeah i just checked it out and i get the ugly Ratchet :'( Damn!
@Gamingdevil, yes he "has" to, the newest models don't have the universal power supplies anymore.
I knew it, US version is blocked.
Lol, bought an European after all... don't forget to add me! See my ID in my sig. Got 3 ID's, but this one is the one I use the most.
Does anyone know if you can use the same ID for 2 consoles?

First person to add; second is gamingdevil. BTW Onna, you use both your PS3s? I have my PC, HDTV, Wii and PS3 and the room is way too crowded. I can't possibly imagine what's going on there
Are you gonna keep them both? What are you playing currently?
My themeforest portfolio:
I've decided to stick with "one" console only. What am I suppose to do with 2 consoles anyway? Two different region consoles, which are totally locked is something else. Besides... it seems its Insomniac who should be blamed not Sony Japan. Just read the "I Hate Japan" thread ;)
As soon as the man brings it he can return it. Its from an online store where you buy things, but pay after a week. So as I haven't paid for it, I can return it, thank goodness.
I hope someone can help me out with a R&C save from a US / EU console.
At the moment I'm not really playing as I'm playing through composite and that's a bit annoying. Waiting for a HDMI cable, which should get in within a week and from the look of it... its an original Sony version. I'm playing the demo of Uncharted and Motorstorm for the moment and mostly on my WII. As soon as the HDMI arrived I'll check out Oblivion GoTYE, Minna no Golf 5, Folks Soul, R&C and Uncharted

Isn't there discs to play PS2 games from one region in another region's PS2 (like Datel's Freeloader on GC)? Do they work on the PS3 to load PS2 games from a different region than your PS3 or did Sony block them (if not they might do it in the future with firmwareupdates)?

I would say Lik-sang.com but you can thank Sony for stopping that awesome website where everyone got their import gaming gear from.
RIP Lik-sang, I'll always remember you.

Erm Sony wasn't the only one, Nintendo also fought against Lik-Sang, as they have been violating the rules for years, with selling moderated consoles, selling modchips etc. and that's simply forbidden.
And no... there are no discs to make the PS3 region free for PS2 games and I doubt we'll ever get to see that, except if Sony decide to drop PS2 games on the PSN.
By the way, I've decided to keep the European PS3 as well
Luckily you're able to use the same accounts.

Pffft go to Lik-sang's website (If it's still there) and they clearly state it is the fault of Sony, sure Nintendo took a stab at them at one stage, but Sony caused the closure.
Yup it's up:
Lik-Sang.com Out of Business due to Multiple Sony Lawsuits OUT OF BUSINESS NOTICE Hong Kong, October 24th of 2006 - Lik-Sang.com, the popular gaming retailer from Hong Kong, has today announced that it is forced to close down due to multiple legal actions brought against it by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited and Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Sony claimed that Lik-Sang infringed its trade marks, copyright and registered design rights by selling Sony PSP consoles from Asia to European customers, and have recently obtained a judgment in the High Court of London (England) rendering Lik-Sang's sales of PSP consoles unlawful. As of today, Lik-Sang.com will not be in the position to accept any new orders and will cancel and refund all existing orders that have already been placed. Furthermore, Lik-Sang is working closely with banks and PayPal to refund any store credits held by the company, and the customer support department is taking care of any open transactions such as pending RMAs or repairs and shipping related matters. The staff of Lik-Sang will make sure that nobody will get hurt in the crossfire of this ordeal. A Sony spokesperson declined to comment directly on the lawsuit against Lik-Sang, but recently went on to tell Gamesindustry.biz that "ultimately, we're trying to protect consumers from being sold hardware that does not conform to strict EU or UK consumer safety standards, due to voltage supply differences et cetera; is not - in PS3's case - backwards compatible with either PS1 or PS2 software; will not play European Blu-Ray movies or DVDs; and will not be covered by warranty". Lik Sang strongly disagrees with Sony's opinion that their customers need this kind of protection and pointed out that PSP consoles shipped from Lik-Sang contained genuine Sony 100V-240V AC Adapters that carry CE and other safety marks and are compatible world wide. All PSP consoles were in conformity with all EU and UK consumer safety regulations. Furthermore, Sony have failed to disclose to the London High Court that not only the world wide gaming community in more than 100 countries relied on Lik-Sang for their gaming needs, but also Sony Europe's very own top directors repeatedly got their Sony PSP hard or software imports in nicely packed Lik-Sang parcels with free Lik-Sang Mugs or Lik-Sang Badge Holders, starting just two days after Japan's official release, as early as 14th of December 2004 (more than nine months earlier than the legal action). The list of PSP related Sony Europe orders reads like the who's who of the videogames industry, and includes Ray Maguire (Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Alan Duncan (UK Marketing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Chris Sorrell (Creative Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Rob Parkin (Development Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited), just to name a few. "Today is Sony Europe victory about PSP, tomorrow is Sony Europe’s ongoing pressure about PlayStation 3. With this precedent set, next week could already be the stage for complaints from Sony America about the same thing, or from other console manufacturers about other consoles to other regions, or even from any publisher about any specific software title to any country they don’t see fit. It’s the beginning of the end... of the World as we know it", stated Pascal Clarysse, formerly known as the Marketing Manager of Lik-Sang.com. "Blame it on Sony. That's the latest dark spot in their shameful track record as gaming industry leader. The Empire finally 'won', few dominating retailers from the UK probably will rejoice the news, but everybody else in the gaming world lost something today." |

Sure, they're not going to blame themselves of course in the sense of: hey guys, sorry, but we have to close down the store as we've been ignoring every single legal rule for years. But indeed, the fact is that Sony Europe has been threatening every single major export store with lawsuits, if these stores wouldn't stop exporting any PSP or PS3 stuff to the European Union.
Thanks to all this crap, neither Yes Asia nor Play Asia ship PSP or PS3 stuff anymore to the European Union countries, including the Netherlands and that's really ...... up. PSP is out for ages here and STILL they don't ship to Europe, whiners.
