I think sadness already finish development, just that a movie company is interested in it so they cannot reveal anything or maybe they dont want to.

It is delay due to NOE not wanting to pick up the title so they need to find a publisher and i think they just find one.

correct me if i am wrong....

 Just to clarify, Nights 1 is going to be released on the PS2.  Nights 2 is a Wii exclusive.
