Forums - General - Apple taking control of ads on the iPhone/Pod/Pad?

@famousringo: I wouldn't say the FUD flies because of Apple hatred, but because of Apple fanboys hyping themselves to death how Apple is going to take down Google and control the web ad market because of this.

Around the Network

We must read different sites, bdbdbd. This is the first calm Apple-related thread I've read in the past month. I'm waiting fir the other shoe to drop.

Not sure why anybody would think Apple is going to dominate web ads. Their service is targeting apps, not web pages. It might grow into the web space once IE and Firefox get around to implementing html5, but Apple doesn't have much in the way of web content to serve ads to (search engine, video streaming, etc.).

@Famousringo: It's quite possible we are reading different kind of sites, since everything i read about Apple is how it's going to dominate/save/take something over with everything it does.

As you may already know, Apple is going to dominate mobile phones market, save newspapers and take over mobile gaming. So, i'm expecting this move to kill Google in the next couple of years, just like Apple supporting HTML5 instead of flash, will put Adobe to bankruptcy.

While some of what Apple has done of late is suspect, this is not one of those things.

This hurts no one, other then companies that sell ads. Developers would like this better, and users would like this better.

it's hard to drum up hate for Apple about something they are forcing, that happens to be much better then every other solution.
