Never heard of her my favorite underrated composer is Ennio Morricone.

You are kidding, right? Ever since Jerry Goldsmith died, Ennio Morricone is probably the most famous living movie composer and considered a legend. He received his honorary academy award 3 years ago and - of those movie composers who are still alive - only John Williams can compete with his fame.

I'm not kidding he is extremly underrated in the US.  I also like Jerry Goldsmith especially his work in the Rambo movies.

Okay, I can't refute this statement. Fair enough.

As I'm listening some music/studying. I wanted to share the glory of Yuki Kajiura with VGC. He is the composer for the absolutely excellent Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners) movies. They're excellent well reviewed and generally accepted as amazing.

Anyways, here's some of his work.

...

...

...

You have no freaking clue what you're talking about.

First:  Yuki Kajiura is a woman.  She, not he.  Seriously, Yuki isn't even a boy's name.

Second:  Yuki Kajiura is one of the most popular anime composers in Japan.  Arguably only Toru Takemitsu and Yoko Kanno are more popular than Yuki Kajiura.

Third:  She is not "underrated," she is simply less wellknown to audiences outside of Japan.

Yuki is a boy and girl's name. (while more popular as a girl's name, it's not uncommon for a boy to be named Yuki)

She did the music for Tsubasa, Noir, and others, but that change my thoughts on her.

My favorite is Johann Pachelbel

Never heard of him either when it comes to classical composers I only know the major ones like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach etc. etc.

Morricone composed the melody of Nella Fantasia. Though, I like the rendition of the vocals for the melody of Nella Fantasia.

I have this CD of Pachelbel and it's SO good! http://www.avalonmusic.com/detail.aspx?ID=23

I'm liking what I'm hearing. I need to watch these movies...

yes, you do, Kara no Kyoukai is awesome

@ topic )

I've been a fan of her's since the faboulous Noir soundtrack and I really admire her other works like Hack//Sign, Tsubasa Chronicle and so on as well. BTW I've seen her perform live at an anime convention (animagic) here in Germany in 2004 and it was simply breathtaking.

Gah, that's really awesome. I haven't seen anyone like that live. I would have seen Uematsu live had the concert date not fallen on the date of my last final.
