Does smoking marijuana lead to any long-term health effects?

I've read in some places that it could cause cancer and other places that it has no harmful effects whatsoever.

I'm tired of not knowing the truth. >__>;

AFAIK, repeated usage leads to less brain activity. I'll have to find the study I saw when I was a medical transport officer...

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Ehhhhhh...

I mean obviously. Don't we hear about it every day how bad it is?

Doesn't everything cause cancer?

Isn't that only if you smoke it? I have heard that it only causes some minor liver problems if eaten.

What's the difference? Smoking, eating... it effects your body the same way. The only difference is you need to eat a LOT more to get it to work. If your getting the same level of high your suffering the same amount of negative effects. Really, I think it's less the physical health risks to worry about then the mental health risks. It seems to show correlations both ways. I had some friends who were on top of the world, everyone likes them... now a days... they're paranoid, jittery never calm unless they're high, not comfortable around anybody... they didn't take it well. Also if you do plan to use Marijuana MAKE SURE the bag is airtight. Otherwise... well it just isn't good. If it gets the least bit moldy it could be really dangerous.

Meh. Like most thing in life moderation is the way to go (and you're talking to someone who loves a good night on the piss). Plus not everything in life has to be in the aid of good health. Stareing a computer all day certainly isn't healthy for you, yet we all do it for hours on end every day.

This reminds me of a quote by Ghengis Khan of all people for some reason. If unable to abstain from drinking, a man may get drunk three times a month; if he does it more than three times he is culpable; if he gets drunk twice a month it is better; if once a month, this is still more laudable; and if one does not drink at all what can be better? But where can such a man be found? If such a man were found he would be worthy of the highest esteem.

of course it can have long term health effects, however those vary on quite a few factors. Using a vaporizor is definitely recommended, as it'll do a lot less damage to your lungs also get you so damn high!

My friend asked his doctor about it and she told him the biggest health risk was from the accompanying over eating.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

1.) It increases defense against cancer cells.

2.) It gives you positive feelings.

3.) Typically, It can't hurt you unless you've taken it for about 20 years.

Why is it banned? Because the media, back during the time it was introduced, had said if a black man took this then he will automatically be compelled to rape white women and if a mexican took it then he would start thinking he was a hitman and shoot everybody he didn't like among other things.

Also, be aware that Marijuana became known during the time of Prohibition of Alcohol.
