It's being created by the people who did Bioshock 2. This will be a FPS and not a RTS.

Yes, Rubang posted it as news. XCom FPS...brilliant idea...the world waited for it...

Could be promising.

It's going to be Bioshock 2 with an "X-com" skin.

Sort of like how Fallout 3 was Oblivion with a "fallout" skin.

Not actual reboots. Just using the name and content to generate sales.

Xcom is popular?

It has it's hardcore niche following.  Which makes it puzzling why they would bother getting the X-Com license and then make a game that would decidedly NOT appeal to the people who liked X-Com.  Do they think they are going to trick anyone who remotely knows what X-Com is into thinking it's a "real" X-Com game?

That said, I'll reserve judgement until we see some gameplay.  I'm a little sick of all the FPS/TPS overloading that's happening this generation though, even though it's my favorite genre.  Maybe we'll see something like what X-Com: Alliance was supposed to be.  Somehow I doubt it, but there's always a sliver of hope.

Ah, who am I kidding.  The game is an FPS where you play as an FBI agent.  This isn't X-Com.  Why is this generation so intent on killing off every franchise?

The original XCom was a turn-based strategy game.  It wasn't an FPS.  I believe the last one may of went a bit FPS.

Now, what makes XCom XCom was a strategic mode, where you did R&D and had to do resource management.  If the new XCom has that, it will be good.  If it is just a FPS, that is disappointing.

IGN listed it as the greatest PC game of all time in 2007, and again in 2009.

isn't it common for Nintendo fans to dimiss IGN's review? ;)

Played xcom, didn't like it that much. FPS game based on xcom just isn't that exciting.
