Gears of War 3 will probably sell 2 million first week, that is almost the same number Killzone 2 did till today and even more than Resistance 2 did overall. Really, there is no counter. Uncharted 3 would be fun to watch, but Gears of War 3 would still win pretty easily.

I never said they need one. They would love to have one though.

How would you know that?

Um, I think everyone would love to own a franchise that has sold 5+ million in each of it's two releases so far.

But I agree, Sony doesn't "need" a response to Gears of War 3.  It has plenty on it's plate right now, and who knows what E3 has in store for everyone.

They won't because last time they tried this, Gears of War 2 ate Resistance 2 alive.

Last time they tried to compete with R2 AND KZ2 and couldn't hold a candle to Gears 2.

So I am guessing they will do not much of anything except release KZ3, which will again do decently in it's own right, and not hold a candle to Gears 3.

It's published by Microsoft just like how Resistance is not a Sony first party title but its published by Sony.

The same thing with Resistance 1 and 2. Thats how Insomniac do things. Even Disruptor and the Spyro games released end of october/ early November

R2 was announced in early 2008 in Game Informer.
