Gears of War is one of the top 3 shooter franchises this gen. Sony doesn't have a Halo killer and they don't have a Gears of War killer either. They do have some shooters but they are as small as Forza is compared to GT.

Gears of War 3 will probably sell 2 million first week, that is almost the same number Killzone 2 did till today and even more than Resistance 2 did overall. Really, there is no counter. Uncharted 3 would be fun to watch, but Gears of War 3 would still win pretty easily.

 

I think many of you misunderstand something: Sony doesn't need anything to counter Gears of War.


I never said they need one. They would love to have one though.

How would you know that?

Um, I think everyone would love to own a franchise that has sold 5+ million in each of it's two releases so far.

But I agree, Sony doesn't "need" a response to Gears of War 3.  It has plenty on it's plate right now, and who knows what E3 has in store for everyone.
