Strange, the battle system was the only reason I kept playing the game. |
IDK, I wrestled with it for 8 hours and couldn't separate my cards between players (which caused everyone to use the same deck; nightmare) Knowing that I had at least 50 hours left, I deleted my file and let my brother use the leftover space to play Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
It was for a greater cause.
BTW: If I were to name the games I didn't buy, but still played, Superman 64 would be in there. Yes....it was atrocious.

Stranglehold. Looking for third person adventure gave it a try. Generic story, charicatures (sp?) for villains etc. but most of all bad camera angles and controls. Gave up half way. I tend to avoid stuff that really glorifies the criminal element. Why encourage them?
Don't know why I ever bought Vampire Rain. May give The Darkness, Condemned and even Dead Rising another try. Mostly for completion percentage not gs. So I'm not a whore, exactly.
Anyone with less than a hundred hours in Oblivion wouldn't really know much about it imo. Two Worlds was a solid game as were Divinity 2, Sacred 2 and other european-made titles that get brutally underrated and regularly bashed. You're entitled to your opinion though. It's a bash thread really isn't it? So step up and swing away!

Nothing that I can remember. I tend to pick carefully. Probably the closest was Invisible War. The game actually wasn't that awful, but compared to what I expected based on Deus Ex I was sorely disappointed when I loaded up Invisible War on my PC. Not quite enough to give up on it, but close.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I'd give you some advice on how that you should use the discard function, or don't focus too much on special attacks and armors and weapons that work for a single character, but I feel you've already done all of that, right? Heh, just kidding.
Bah, if the battle system doesn't work for you, the game isn't all that great.

If the gameplay stops sucking and the story stops being shit and there's no more junction, then I just might. |
Just to but in here, since he's almost convinced you to retry it.
FF8 has one of the best FF stories, along with FF7 and a notch below FF6. FF8's story is far better than FF13, 9, 10 anyway imo.
Maybe its the awful characters that are making the story seem bad to you.
I'm not saying FF8 is the best FF eva, its my 2nd worst if I were to rank them....but if you have liked every other FF, you owe it to yourself to finish it!!!
i can't vote on this one because its metal gear4. to mutch stealth. i cant sneeek around the hole time. cause when i see a person on screen its time to kill them. (but then again. halo1-2-3 and odst i hate them all. i coundn't even star them. i just stop playing. thats why i disscredit most reveiw scores. most of all of them prassed a franchies of games that suck) heres hopping reach will be better. (i think reach will be better)

Yea, those 8 hours don't even include resets! The thing is, I beat BK1, all 65 hours of it and was killin it with the cards.
The fact that Origins was so not-working-for-me was weird. Can't say I didnt try though. Oh well, on to the next one

No, I do not. Series loyalty does not prompt me to finish a game.
FF8's gameplay is terrible. Its characters/story are terrible. I'll play a game if either one of the elements is good enough, but it is not for FF8. And if the story doesn't start being good within the first 5-10 hours, I just couldn't care.

Had to force myself to finish Resistance 2. The AI was horrible, and one sided.. i.e. only shooting at YOU.
Assassin's Creed 1 - I stopped playing due to repetition, go to the look out(high point), scan and find mission, play mini-game, rinse and repeat. The thievery part was a mini-game..dreadful. Good concept let down by poor gameplay mechanics. Haven't played the sequel which I hear is alot better.
Prototype, felt generic, same old, same old. Never finished it. Infamous was a better game.
There are others, memories gone blank..
