Forums - Microsoft - Splinter Cell: Conviction 5 Hours LONG!!! NO Thanks!

is there even one thread on this site where ps3 and 360 fanboys dont get in conflict? i suppose not.

Although I personally dislike extremely short games it could still end up being 5 hours of pure awesome.

I completed Heavenly Sword in 7 hours on my first play through and while I was upset to see it end I can assure you I still had a blast playing it.

I'm not big on multiplayer though so padding a short game with multiplayer means nothing to me and adds nothing to it's score what so ever. If I was in the OP's situation I would probably still give it a rent.

I dont even think this guy has a 360... just a guess of course. his post history defies his claims of being multi-platform. live id?

not only that. but who the hell doesnt like multiplayer?!

Is it really that hard to believe multiplayer isn't for everyone? I can tolerate it on occasion, particularly with fighting games, but I don't enjoy it. The only time I have ever been on Live for multiplayer is when I got a free trial and that was about 3 years ago. I haven't even updated my firmware. I'm still using the original.

You obviously don't buy many games for your 360 then, as it would have been auto updated to NXE over a year ago.

i dont understand what the big deal is. If its a good game, then what does it matter if its long or not? there are plenty of long games that are bad. Just because a game is short, doesnt mean its not worth it. SC has co-op and online and one of ign's points was the replayability. Now halo odst is a different story imo. odst gave the same the multiplayer as halo 3, rendering it to be worth half of what it is. SC, is all new, and the dev team working on it really has some sweet ideas. i dont see how a 360 owner can go "NO THANKS".

the op specifically said he wasn't interested in MP.  The importance of SP varies by person, a short SP will turn off some people.  I don't see anything wrong with that, if i can beat a game in 5 hours and i have no interest in MP then i sure as hell am not gonna buy the game.

even if the gamer is not interested in mp. if the single player is damn good, why is it not worth the 60$? i get that the op may be on the ball about the game, but stating as if they were never going to play it is beyond me.

do i really need to state the obvious?  5 hours is not worth $60 for me period.  I don't care if its the best game ever, i'll just rent it.  It depends on the person, some can afford to buy many games some can't.  Some have better things to spend their money on and some are just passionate about it.  Why are you telling people what they should believe and how they should value their time and money?

That said i dont' own a 360 and am not that interested in the game.  I'm just saying though that in general a game has to provide more than that for me to even consider buying it no matter how good it is.

im not telling anyone to do anything. and if it really is the best game ever? why not pay 60$ for it? people pay alot more money for just 2 hours of fun. either way, i am not trlling anyone to change thier beliefs, you totally taking what i posted and making it seem like something else. The op asked what we thought of it, and i gave my thoughts. I dont see how anyone who is interested in SC can say "NO THANKS". Those are my thoughts. Simple as that.

yes exactly, if the game is that good, why not pay? PLUS, replay ability is still there

to the few posters above...

the 360 forums are full of 360 "owners" and even blatant non 360 owners trolling everything 360/... its a drag.

If soemones pretends to have a platform its kind of sad

Even though what youe say is probably true, from what I have seen of your posting history you would never question the 360., I think questioning all consoles is a healthy practice.

yeah exactly, from your posting history its hard to believe you actually have a ps3.

My PSN ID is there for all to see and to add if you so choose.  I praise the ps3 and ps3 games all the time.  Go check.  Just ps3 fanboys I have a REAL problem with...

if the guy above you is serious, then wow. i mean, how much clearer can it get then your psn id in your sig?...

I never said he should buy it.

Games are very expensive this gen and if he is going to go through the SP campaign once and never touch the MP portion of the game I think it would be very foolish of him to drop $60 on something that would give him the exact same overall experience that a $9 rental would.

I don't buy games I think I will only play once, that is why I rented Uncharted and Uncharted 2. Both great games, but nothing I would play a second time or more and with that known it made zero sense for me to drop $60 on it just so it could sit on a shelf.

I never said he should buy it either. I just dislike it when someone wont buy a guy JUST because its that short. There should be other reasons. Like its REALLLLY short. Or the game just sucks, etc...

Also everyone needs to understand that not everyone likes multiplayer and there is nothing wrong with that. Come on, "inhumane"?

I also think it is ridiculous when people act like someone needs to show proof that they own a console. Not everyone needs to give out their LIVE ID, PSN ID, Friend Code, etc... to people.

Maybe they just don't want you spamming their inboxes.
