I'm not so sure about that. Although SILENT HILL 2 was a bit more of a psychological thriller, it's mainly a survival horror franchise (a little different). I think there will be similarities, but I think ALAN WAKE will mainly be a psychological thriller. Also, it has more competition than SILENT HILL: Condemned, Dead Space, & Siren: Blood Curse are all very well done spook-fests.

I'm not trying to slight ALAN WAKE, but we need to wait for it to release (or at least here some final build feedback) before calling it the best of the genre in the gen. And this is coming from someone who's current most anticipated game this gen is ALAN WAKE.

Yeah you're right, I will give DS ect their dues, but I just feel it in my bones that Alan Wake is going to be amazing

Best news i read this week. Cant wait hopefully a real SH like SH1-2-3.

Homecoming was ok but I somehow it wasnt as scary as older SHs probably because there are people all the time and everything seems so populated. And Homecoming just had not the right atmosphere the scary parts are so common. Its clearly not like the SH before. Have yet to play Shattered memories. I will buy it on the PS2 maybe next week.

But I hope this will be revolutionary. Cant wait for screenshots.

hmm.. the mocap studio leak predicted this game.. Climax was listed as the developer, so well see on who it is. Socom4 was also listed being made by zipper on there.

Resident Evil 5 is not scary at all. RE in general is not that scary.

SH is another leauge imo. Silent Hill Homecoming is not as scary as other SH parts but its definetly way more scary then RE5.

SH Homecoming is as scary as Dead Space. And one of the most scary games on HD consoles but for the silent hill standard it just lacks atmosphere and the subtile scaryness other SH parts have.

Its a good game its not like Homecoming was bad but its just not on the same level other SH games are. I cant name the difference but I feel it everytime I play the game.

Thanks for the info. Last game that I played that I thought was scary was Condemned, I enjoyed that game.
